Okay so I bought civ 3 complete on steam the other day,and once it finished installing I tried to run it and it gave me "error code 13, will now exit game" yadda yadda I'm sure you've heard it all before...
Now here's the weird part:
I followed all the instructions I could find on this site, none of it helped. I followed the instructions on multiple sites, still no luck. The reason for this being is I have NO LSANS.fot file. At all. I do have the LSANS.ttf file, but it ain't doing much for me. I put the .ttf file in the PTW, main, and CONQUESTS folders, and I put it in windows fonts folder. Still no luck. I tried removing a ton of fonts, I tried making a fake .fot file(which got me error code 28 then deleted itself) , I tried restarting, I tried re-installing. Everything, and no luck. I am running windows XP, with 2 gigs of ram, plenty of hard drive space, a Intel core 2 cpu 6400 @ 2.13 Ghz. I see no reason that the game shouldn't load, and hell it has no problems far as I can tell other than this silly font error. Please someone help me immediately I really want to play this game(and will be really mad if I blew 5 bucks for no reason).
