Error:D3DX9_32.DLL

It all started when the game quit . Error code came up:1706. I sent a error report and Microsoft directed me to this site to download patch 1.74. I did, since then I have not been able to play game. Application failed to start3DX9_32.DLL could not be found. I tried to restore system to just before I down loaded the patch, still no help. It's like the game disapeared.

There has been no patch for Civ4 Colonization. I believe you mean Civ4 patch 1.74 (vanilla Civ4). This is the wrong forum for that game.

Secondly, you will need to upgrade your DirectX installation. You should be able to get the latest directx from http://www.microsoft.com/directx

Hello guys
I had the same problem, and downloaded the 3DX9_32.DLL from the internet, i put it in the civilization folder and the problem was dissappeared... Now when i try to join an internet multiplayer game i get the same message: "download the patch_174 and restert the game". I have downloaded the 174 patch from somewhere, i patched the game but i always get the same message when i try to get into internet games.
I also tried to patch the game again, but it already recognises that there is a 174 version. I think u will face the same problem.
Does anybody know what are we going to do???
