Error trying to install - please help

I can't seem to find anything on this but whenever I try to install I get this message.

set197.tmp has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Where the number after set changes each time. This is with the DVD version if it makes a difference.

Failed install so need to re-install, not just run it over whatever is there.

Windows add/remove programe in Control Panel - de-install civ
Then Check manually that My Documents/My Games/Civ directory, and the programs/firaxis/civ directory are both deleted, if not delete manually
Go to Windows/temp delete files
Go to your Browser delete temp files

Run install
Run V1.52 Patch

Watch the patch install carefully - see if any errors or anything abnormal happens during install, if it does, or stilll will not install, redownload the Patch from a different mirror, try the patch again after deinstalling that failed attempt.

If still issues, come back posting your Dxdiag dump
