Error when Playing

I spent some 10 hours this week on fixing the map scripts and now all of them work correctly on Giant and Gigantic map sizes - these did cause those C++ faults when launching new game and you had chosen those map sizes. I tested each map script on Giant size during the fix process. The fixed mapscripts are included in the Extra civ addon pack patch 1.4 (ie. the patch for megapack) which I'll try to upload today or during weekend in case I run into network problems today...

Fantastic :goodjob:. Its not hard to understand why I like this mod so much.

Hi!
Ok, now i have another problem:
I can't install the patch! When i extract it to Beyond the sword/Mods/Rise of mankind it has no efect. There are no new leaders or civs. And the game still won't start.
Hope you can help, but thx anyway for your efort.

JanK

I've maneged to install the patch, but i'm still getting the runtime error!:cry::cry:
Can someone please tell me why?
Is it maybe because i extracted the files first into the RoM folder, and left it that way and than again extracted it into Mods folder, whiout deleting the previous wrongly extracted files?

JanK

Just delete the Rise of Mankind folder and start again. Download the main mod file, the patch, and copy them to the Mods folder one after the other, overwriting files when it asks.

Don't install the megapack, it just causes issues such as the runtime error. Once I installed the main mod w/o the megapack, I have not had any issues with the mod. And it's not like my PC can't handle it. the megapack just causes stability issues.

Wait, i just want to know if I got it right:
-I download: a) Rise of Mankind v2.5
b) Rise of Mankind patch 2.5->2.52
c) Extra Civ addon pack v1.2
d) Extra civ addon patch 1.3
e) Extra civ addon patch 1.4
-I exrtact them all (all or just some of them?) to C/Games/2K games/firaxis games/Civilization IV Complete/Beyond the sword/Mods in the same order as i listed them above
-and then it shuld work?

Thank you for your help

Jank

Don't download any of the "extra civ addon pack" files. Just A and B. Everything else as you described.

Isn't there any other way?
I mean i realy want to play with extra civs.
And on behalf of all, the 1.4 patch for addon fixes the problem i had with the map scripts (it adds the 2.53 patch aswell).

Anyways tnx for the help,
JanK

I know, I do too, but every single time I install the add-on pack, it causes my game to crash. And it's been discussed that you need A LOT of RAM/high end CPU for it to possibly work, and considering I have a really good quad core CPU, 4gb RAM, and a 1gb ATI 4870 card and I can never get the game to be stable w/ the add-on pack installed, there's obviously something wrong there.

Good luck, but I really don't have anything for you. Every time I try w/ the add-on pack, the game crashes. When I play w/o it, it seems to work fine.
