Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

I think a vampire doesn't belong in a zombie mod, now
a vampires and hunters mod would rock.
"It's year 1889, enlightened science is changing the whole world, but in the Carpathian mountains people still live the primitive lifestyles of their ancestors, still ruled by the immortal vampire lords that made pact with evil hundreds of years ago.
Now, the secret of Transylvania has been accidently discovered by a travelling British reporter who is also the heiress of a noble family. She was to die for knowing the truth but upon learning of her being nobility the vampire lord Vlath decided to make her his undead bride, turning her into a vampire queen.
The women's bethroded, James Grant, famous adventurer arrives in Transylvania looking for her, after learning of the vampire's existance from doctor Rufus the vampire hunter he mounts an expedition to save her. Some of the people are determined to get their land rid of vampires too and join the expedition, but is their leader, the fanatical preacher Jula Vrotski sane? And why is an agent of the Austrio-Hungarian empire following them? Is it true that worse creatures than vampires live in Carpathian?"
 
Actually GF I have thought about making a Vampirehunting scenario...
But there aren't vampire units very much :sad:

But with some improvising,perhaps I could do the scenario
 
If you would want to try such a scenario i'd gladly cook up some descriptions,
i'm not good at balancing stuff though so you would have to decide on stats...
My propositions:
Vampires:
Evil Lord Vlath-king unit-Blooddragon graphics.
Lesser vampires-producable only in some cities-Carstein graphics
Vampiresses-enslave ability-Lahmian graphics
Necromancers, bats, wolves, spiders, zombies/ghouls-everything is in the warhammer mod.
Also, peasants with pitchforks, fanatics with torches, 19 century romanian infartry, english soldiers, the 'victorian agent' as a doctor, a baloon maybe, improvising when we have to...
Could be a fun scenario, much like this one.
 
The problem is with the map...

And perhaps the victory conditions could be Princess capturing and regicide(Must be really hard for the Hunters)

The map, I think it would be good if it was like the zombie island one
like different building represents the city and make it a small town. It's probably better this way. Afterall it's not like a vampire can take over a whole country, or can it?

haha maybe somehow there will be another mod for vampires haha
 
I'm gonna think more on the vampire mod idea and start a thread about it in a day or two, let's get back on topic...
I understand that the lates edition has units ready and we are waiting to implement music?
 
I will request ftp access from Thunderfall on Monday. If the music isn't ready I'll go without it. I was always going to make it a separate, optional download anyway.

Yup. But sometimes I won't get a reply for 2 or 3 days from old TF but still you can expect it sometime mid week.

Oh I think a vampire mod would be great too.
 
I'm looking forward to the newest version. :) I still haven't managed to win as the Company, I'll give it another shot.

I'd also love to see a vampire mod done in the spirit of this one. Could be a lot of fun.

I also will assist where I can a vamp and scifi themed ... I guess we are discussing a role playing genre for Civ ... and am eagerly waiting ... and then after a brief testing period we can finally get a pbem happening ;)

Yes there are more roads than I'd like but the problem is that roads and houses cannot occupy the same tile - the road "flattens"/obscures the building. I need roads for the resources so more houses means fewer squares available for resources and this in turn affects the balance of the game - believe me I have tried it...

That sound like a good reason...
I have an idea: What if I - for the next version of the mod - made some new roads. But this time, instead of being "Roads", the roads are a part of the basic terrain (could replace desert or plains). Then "Roads" could be invisible and cover the whole island from the beginning, so all you would need to get a resource would to have it inside your border or build a colony. Or would this make it too easy to get resources? To make it more difficult, you could rename the roads to "safe path" and give all units the ability to perform all kinds of worker jobs and give them the "worker" AI strategy. But all worker jobs - exept build roads - would require an unresearchable (is this a proper word?) tech. So to get resources, your military units would have to make sure that the road to the resource is safe (the "build road" order could be renamed to "secure area" or something like that). Of course, all units should have the "pillage" ability.
