Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

Here are the files to have the "Paradrop" button look like the Sewer I made for the "SewerRat" Unit. Also the Cursor will look like the same Sewer when the "Use Sewer" Button is used rather than a parachute. The Text will say "(A)rea: Select a Sewer Exit " when the button is used.

...I just wanted to change the interface buttons, cursor and text to reflect "using the Sewer" rather than a parachute. Obviously, this change will affect the paradrop Button and cursor, however, IF the Survivors or any CIV does not need or use the paradrop button for a parachute unit...this "sewer Button" works very well and is appropriate for a unit using the sewer.

...You should make a back up copy of the "labels.txt" in the Text folder of Escape from Zombie 2. The other files are simply placed into the Escape from Zombie 2\ Art folder and can simply be removed or renamed if you want the game to use the "normal" paradrop button and cursor...I included a Read Me.

KingArthur..., The sound I made for the "SewerRAT" when using the sewer is new and fits IMO...IF you would prefer any different sounds for the Unit, other than the "covert ops" sounds I made...let me know...they may sound a bit to "professional" for the Survivors. Further, IF you need anything else created to be able to use the "SewerRAT" unit or Resource in the game...let me know. I have changed the graphics contrast and slightly subdued the brighter colors of the "Cities" as well as changed the Roads to more of a very Dark Slate Grey. This allows shadows to slightly be seen on the Roads without affecting the over all darker aspect of the map which is desirable. Also reduced the Bright contrast of several Resources so they all match without standing out. The Units and Resources are easier to see and all looks good. IF you are interested...let me know. I am also willing to remake any Resources and Techs but need the original images. Again, only if you are interested. Last...point: I think the buildings would look better if they looked like what they are suppose to be rather than the "CIV Cities"...Just an Idea to consider.

I finally beat this scenario as the survivors! It was a bit to easy on PG rating, as all the zombie had left was their capital, the Cinema and Customer Service when I won a victory point victory. I guess I have to try on a harder level now. :)
 
This Decal is intended for the Survivors to indicate when their City has Built a
Sewer. It takes the place of the Airport.

...just place the "airAndHarb.pcx" file in your Escape from Zombie Island 2
"Cites" Folder. This City Sewer Decal can be used any way you like but
will be best used with Escape from Zombie Island 2 when KingArthur applies
all of the Sewer related game changes.

Also included another Extra "airAndHarb.pcx" file in a separate
folder that has a Gold Airplane to match the Anchor...for anyone who wants it.

Use as you like...Read Me included.

Are you going to make a separate pedia icon for the sewer improvement?
Already made and posted several aspects of the Sewer on previous pages. Sewer Resource and as a unit and large and small civilopedia icons. just waiting on Kingarthur to impliment what he wants and let me know what else is wanted. All depends on what is wanted.

Excellent. Could you possibly do a TECH icon. I am going to have an advance called The City Sewer System. Also, if poss. I need large and small pedia pics for the Zombie Nurse.

I meant gfx for the city improvement that replaces the airport, but I guess the resource pics will work.

Yeah, I think I need a large and small building pcx as well as the icons for the civilopedia.

Note:...I did not replace the Airport with the Sewer in the Civilopedia buildings because IF anyone needs the Airport, it would not be there...IF you want the Sewer to replace the Airport in the Buildings for the Civilopedia...let me know. As for any other pcx Icons wanted...just be specific and let me know.
KingArthur...Sure...just let me know exactly what you want for the Tech Icon and Building...or Are you going to add a Building to the Map for the "City Sewer System"? IF so, can you post the Building or send it to me? I am not quite sure what you want for the Tech Icon...the Sewer or a Building.

Here are the Nurse Large and Small Pedia Pics. I could not do a lot with them due to the lack of details in the flc. Note: the nurse flcs use colors from the Civ specific area of the palette and in fact the nurse does not really have a correct palette. IF I had the .bmp rendered files, I could make a palette for her...I don't remember now who made her. Anyway...hope these pictures will suffice for now.

Just thought I would Upload a Test screeshot of the SewerRAT additions so you can see what's coming. I have sent KingArthur more files and it shouldn't be long before the Update.
Note that this screenshot does not include the Cursor or the new City Sewer Plant but they are complete and awaiting approval.

I am certain that the SewerRAT unit and the Use Sewer command will need to be game tested to decide on the Distance the unit can move, their Attack and Defense settings...not to mention the details desired concerning when and how they become available. None the less, all files work well in the game and I have been playing to test it all. I believe Escape from Zombie Island 2 will have some more improvements that will further enhanse the Fun.

I've been thinking (I do that once a year or so) and some units should be called something else:

- Nuclear missiles\ICBM's: they aren't REALLY Nuclear Missiles, they are more just powerfull missiles. The damage they (likely) do is to destroy a building improvements and some citizens, so this is similar to those missiles sent by the Navy (Tomahawks?). So I propose to change the name to "Missile" or similar. Not Cruise Missile 'cause it could mislead some newbies to the game.

NOTE: I never tried them in this game, I just assume they are similar to other games.


- Cruise Missile: I think there would have to be very weak missiles to only injure (possible kill) 2 or 3 persons. This is more a bazooka fire or an mortar shot. Maybe call them "Bazooka shoot"?

I think the nukes work as nukes. They only affect a relatively small radius, but they cause pollution and - given the hordes of Zombies you may encounter - can destroy truly huge numbers of enemy units.

I agree that Cruise Missiles might need to be rethought. But I don't both with them in either the scenario or the regular game.
 
This Senario is great, but I have an idea for it (wich may be more trouble than it's worth.) How about you tweak it (as a newe Biq) that Survivors cannot take over the island and can only use the helacopter to win. Also, I agree with making the Black Opps less powerfull, but then it might be impossibile to get the raidio station.
 
Maybe the Nuke can be called Tomahawk missile, which is really powerful, and could destoryed a building, bunkers and killed a lot of zombie.

Call the cruise missle mortar, since you can't fire a bazooka long range.

THe Sewer Rat looks AWSOME

Well, the survivor can just used chopter to win anyway, it's there only option, but they can conquear the island along the way.
 
This is a "City Unit" that is Best to add to Scenarios...because it needs to be
Pre-placed on the map and added as an Immobile Unit.

This "City Unit" was made from The Original "Japlander" unit by BeBro.
The Unit's Attack and Death flcs were adjusted to use 15 Frames and
combined with a European Industrial city.

KingArthur, I tried to send you this file but it was returned as undeliverable so I am uploading it for you here.

Rename the Unit anything you want...My Idea is to use this WWII Japanese guy as another member of the Island who lives there and has gone "Nuts" from the Zombie situation and now "thinks" he is back in WWII and will try to Kill anyone who enters his city (or home). When he is killed, he and the City will vanish and reveal the Sewer Resource that the Survivors need to build both the SewerRAT units and the Sewer Plant. Check it out and let me know if you need anything else for it.
Just name and add the new Unit to the game (set as Immobile) and place it over the Sewer Resource...give the new unit more Hit Points so it is hard to kill...Attack, Defense and Hit Points can be tweaked according to the difficulty desired and when you want the Survivors to have access to the Sewer Resource that will be under this "City Unit".
...IF you would prefer, I can make a Mutant Zombie City Unit ...I just thought this guy would add some flavor, challenge and nice effect to the story line and game play. The zip has all needed files.

Anyway, Should the survivor be the only faction able to use sewer rats?

Also, I found factory too easy to be taken for it's potential value, it should be maked so it's harder to attack.
