Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

Get Me The President

"Sir, we are still taking heavy losses on Paradise Island. Those... things, are becoming bigger, stronger and are just annihilating us. We need more firepower..."

The General reached for the red phone; a secure line to the White House. The other generals looked at each other in shock.

"Sir, you aren't thinking..."

"There is only one way to stop this."

"But there are innocent people still..."

"I'm aware of that, general. But if we don't bomb that place to hell, these things could spread, and we would have a greater catastophe. A few hundred innocent lives MUST be expended for the greater good."

He picked up the phone.

"Get me the President..."

If there is anything in my writing style you want me to change, just let me know... :)

Revenge of the Nerds

"Look here fellow Nerdlingers, we have a opportunity to present a solution to the utterly insane – but undeniably factual – occurrence of the metamorphosis of ordinary human beings into the decomposing reanimated deceased that we can all observe stalking our streets.

If we accomplish this, the powerful will have no alternative but to acknowledge our superior intellect and we shall finally obtain their respect. Let's initiate an orderly and logical brainstorming session to ascertain the what the correct response and solution should be to this predicament..."

Cloner4000...yes, Leopard should be there, not Panzer. The Church has one entry. I have a pet peeve about some of the Dead End roads so I just changed the Map Graphics slightly at the Church and the West end of the Island concerning the Dead End Roads there.
Concerning the Champions and the AI. I believe the AI would upgrade them IF they had a Machine Shop so they could  . This will need to be corrected and I think at least all Bastions for all Factions should have a Machine Shop from the start of the game.

Lord Malbeth...yes, the Fast Food joint should have an immobile Test Subject Alpha in it. Guess king Arthur missed that one trying to get all of these little changes accomplished and to you testers. It will be corrected.

LizardmenRule!...Reads Good to me :) Thanks I like the Revenge of the Nerds too :)

Things to Consider: Because the AI has the default tendency to take most of the units out of there cities, leaving them more vulnerable, I wanted to place immobile Units in all Cities in order that game play not change for any faction. Because the AI will simply include the immobile unit as one of the few it leaves in any city, these immobile units will only serve as stronger units there rather than increase the numbers that guard a city. IF we want a particular number of units that will stay in all cities, we will have to place that many immobile units in each city. At this point King Arthur and I have missed each other as far as being able to communicate quickly due to living in different parts of the world and other situations we both had to take care of.
King Arthur added one Immobile Alpha Zombie to each of the Zombies Cities but this may need to change as well as adding immobile units to all cities.

...I realize trying to play a game that will most likely require toward 30 hours to finish can be frustrating when the Changes keep coming so fast that you cannot finish a game. My real concern is that unless all Factions are played to the Finish so all game play information can be derived from doing so, we will not see the "Big Picture". Yes, the game seemed too slow and quiet to me at the start then kept intensifying until mid game Hordes lol. This is the reason I wanted to increase the Number of Romero Zombies for each Zombie City so they would be out running around as they would be at the start of this Zombie Horror. That said, I want the Zombies to more slowly gain the techs to make Monster Zombies as well as prevent the Hordes of them by increasing the Cost of Monster Zombies. Because the AI has a reduced Shield Box, at least on upper levels, the cost increase cannot be compared to what they mean to the Human players. I told King Arthur it would probably require a cost of 100 shields which, would be double the last cost, to really make a noticeable difference but the added 20 should help slightly.
I also believe a Minimum of 8 and a Maximum of 32 turns for tech research would be better to slow the game and then adjust the Rate caps for each Faction as well. This will allow the Zombies, who have far fewer Techs to research and the other factions that also have different numbers of techs with the advantages they bring, to all be adjusted for better game play. Understand that it is Not important that all factions have the exact same ability to research techs at the same speed because this also depends on what units they get with the techs as well as the numbers of techs to obtain all of them for their respective abilities in the game. IF there was only One tech tree for all, this would then need to be equal but that is not the case here.
Complications but they are important to have set correctly according to the desired Game play for each Faction. Hang in there and find out what you can...we will have this better adjusted soon because of the testing with feedback. Believe me, I know it is frustrating to have to keep starting over but there is no other way to make changes and have them tested. Even something as minor as a missing Alph Test Subject at the Fast Food joint changes things slightly and certainly tech rates and research times, etc... It is actually a Good thing you are all catching these areas and also commenting on all as you see it. Your Opinions and Observations are very important and Greatly Assist in the better development of this game. Just don't Burn Out, it only seems like set backs when in reality it is discoveries that need attention and adjustments that will make this Game far better...Thanks for all the Help...I am tired too

Perhaps this could be the tag line for Revenge of the Nerds?

Coffee
Apart from being the main ingredient in a delicious hot beverage, coffee also contains caffeine, which helps keep people awake. This is especially helpful when your city is crawling with zombies and you need to keep watch at night...

Chainsaws
The trusty chainsaw has found a new use in the zombie-infested streets of Paradise Island. Once the lumberjack's friend, it is now the weapon of choice for Chainsaw Maniacs, who use them to slice the limbs and heads off the zombies. This may not immediately kill them, but a zombie without arms and legs isn't much of a threat.

Sheep
While usually farmed for food or wool (and in New Zealand for other... different purposes), the people of Paradise Island have found a new use for sheep. By packing them with explosives, the animals can be sent towards the zombie hordes and detonated, blowing apart the undead creatures. As an added bonus, the explosion also cooks the lamb to perfection, giving people a tasty snack in the midst of battle.

Nice...Lizardman.....

My games turn a radical direction...the Authorities declear way on me!!!! No idea what they are thinking, it 4 turn I took Hospital Radio Station and Police station. When one Marine shows up...we sign a peace treaty..

Saw the first monster zombies around day 5or6, explosive sheep blow him up and Miss Tokugawa does a graceful finish.

Just received patch ... I will begin testing Survivors on 12A

I like the idea of Sated Zombies

Question ... will it still be released on Halloween ???
Personally I love the idea ... the game is in the tweeking stage and I see no problem with a realease that can be patched at a later date when everyone has had a chance to comment.

 Well done everyone with all the pedia entries (I intend to work on some of the farmer ones when able, if they have not been done yet)

BTW ... I did prefer that the Zombies ate our messenger ... now it is Killed. :(
although I understand that it is a standard message for diplomacy.

eerrr. played until pretty mid game....day 9 .....seem about 8 monster zombies but only comes one or two at the times so my sheep and balloon bomb the heck out of them then they are easily finished. It seems that only conference center and carpark can build it, is there no other source?

Also once hotwire research..you can only build biker gal.

There isn't an Alpha (Sated) zombie in the Fast Food Joint.
Oops, but kinda ironic that it had to be the fast food joint LOL.

Maybe two should be there. I just added one Sated Zombie to the zombie cities knowing that it may need to be tweaked so if you have any suggestions (everyone) let me know.

Nothing wrong with it at all. You keep making them and I'll keep putting them into the civilopedia. That goes for everyone else too.

Monster Zombies require zombie goo which can jump around a lot (bit like ammo really).

You shouldn't be able to build Biker Gals at all but only upgrade Chain Girls to Biker Girls.

A bastion already works like a machine shop so there's no need to add machine shops to those buildings. I think we have to make allowances for AI stupidity and find ways to help them such as your idea for the immobile defensive unit.

LizardmenRule!...Great and the Exploding Sheep is too Funny:lol:

Cloner4000... well, it seem you are doing ok. I too have started another testing tonight as the Survivors. It is Day 2 at 8:00 PM and I have the Graveyard, Dog Pound and Church. About to complete the Clearance Sale in 2 turns. The Techs are still a bit fast in my opinion and I believe a minimum of 8 turns and Maximum of 32 turns would be better with adjustments to the Rate cap for all factions according to what is needed.

fe3333au...Great, the recent adjustments help but do not seem to be enough. The Immobile Sated Alpha Zombies inside the Zombie "cities" need to be increased to 2 in each city and about 10 Romero Zombies scattered around the map for the Start of the Game. These changes and the Tech Research possibly being adjusted to 8 and 32 as mentioned above with Rate Caps should do it.
Concerning the Halloween Release, I spoke with King Arthur and we are more concerned about having Good Game play with unit and tech settings for all Factions play as we desire before Releasing the game. After all the effort that has gone into it, we must have these basics as wanted because certainly there will be updates after the release. Minor things will be discovered as well as additions etc... It was a Good Thought and certainly an appropriate Day to try for the release but perhaps not realistic...at least not realistic with what we now know. IF this Momentum keeps going, I have hopes of it being released soon after Halloween. We have made Great Progress now and I hope all will continue as we are going so we can have the Release Ready as soon as possible. Patches are really meant to correct minor things discovered in the game or provide additions or improvements..not Correct Major Game play issues. In general, King Arthur and I do not want to Release the game knowing it is not finished for what we have in it. IF you know the Frustrations as a tester having to start over with updates, imagine how many people would be frustrated with us if we Upload this game knowing it is unfinished just to meat a Novel day for the Release. We want this Game Released probably more than anyone but it would be a mistake to do that knowing it is not quite finished and needs more changes before we can call it Complete for what we have in it now. IF everyone will continue as we are doing, it will allow the necessary things to be completed sooner than later so lets not worry about a particular day but keep doing all we can so it will be Ready just as soon as possible.

In the mean time I have noticed a few Graphics that need changing as well as a few unit sounds I want to make. I am also test playing the same levels as you Testers. I am discussing with King Arthur the comments and suggestions from you Testers as well as his and my own. We are doing as much as we possibly can to complete this.

Does everyone now have the animated Zombie Leader Head and the adjusted still images for it? Because King Arthur send out the updates because he has a High Speed Connection, I do not always know what you have.

King Arthur...yes, that is true, the bastions do function as a machine Shop but I wonder if the AI has to have a Machine Shop in the "City" where the Champions are to actually upgrade them. Not sure the AI would run them to the Bastion. Well this does not matter because we are not going to place a Machine Shop in every "City" regardless, so if the AI is Not upgrading the Champion it is their loss.

Regarding Halloween ... yes it would have been good, but I feel that we are finally at a tweeking stage and that is very important ... hmmm ... anyone know when Romeo's Birthday is ???

I also think that 2 Spam is too much around the Garage ... maybe have one in a house near Mr. Tok's house.

It will also give me some time to tackle the health issue ... and finish some promised pedia entries.

and with the deadline angst discipated ... I can watch some Zombie films a mate gave me later tonight ... Not Dead Enough and I Drink Your Blood (aka I Eat Your Flesh) ... and a couple of John Waters' classics :woohoo:

Should Clearance Sale be a little more expensive it is 40 Shields while Forifications is 30 ???
Yes I think it should. Also, Vuldacon and I think spaceship parts should be more expensive to make the 5 Step Plan more difficult to achieve. Any thoughts?

I don't know Romero's birthday LOL. Spam can be adjusted -I'll look into that.

Good, hopefully you get some ideas that we could use.

We need a name for a fortification improvement for Zombies as well as 2improvements that increase their city size level.

I'm thinking: "Pile-Up" for the fortification since they are really just dead bodies or deanimated zombies around the buildings. "Fodder Room" for the city level 2 improvement which is just a room filled to bursting with tasty snacks e.g. dead people. Don't have any ideas for a level 3 improvement yet.

Bats

Bats are very susceptible to the zombie virus. The virus is easily absorbed into the blood stream through the skin of the thin wing membrane. Bats can also contract the virus from drinking the blood of cows and sheep, which are immune to the virus's effects.

Because bats are small creatures, their body succumbs to the virus very quickly. Since the virus can act so swiftly, the whole mutation process is sped up, resulting in monsterous growth in a short amount of time.

City Sewer System

"Oh my God!" Peter gasped as he tried to bury his face into his shirt. "That smells like $h!t."
"It is $h!t, Pete," replied Davo, who pointed his torch down the dark, dank tunnel. Pete sloshed through the knee deep sludge towards his friend.
"This smell will outlive religion," Pete muttered. "I can't believe it..."
"Rather this smell than walking around up there waiting for one of those rotting f**kers to bite my balls off."
"True." The pair made their way through the sewer, jumping several times at sounds echoing down the pipes. Rats climbed over immobile piles of solid waste, scattering as Davo's torch passed over them.

Eventually, they reached a ladder. Pete grasped the slimy rungs and made his way towards the closed manhole. Davo followed close behind.

As quietly as possible, Pete pushed the cover up and slid it away from the manhole. He looked around. Nothing.
"Coast is clear." He jumped out and reached down to help Davo to the street.
"See?" grinned Davo triumphantly. "Told ya the sewers are the way to go! Now let's find some deodorant..."
