Espionage mission success failure bug?

I get conflicting mission reports from spy missions. First it tells me the spy has undertaken the mission successfully. The next line in red tells me the spy's mission has been thwarted by counterespionage agents!

Anyone else getting these strange conflicting reports from spy missions? I couldn't find any information about this on the forum.

Are you sure this isn't the just the outcome where the spy succeeds in the mission, but is caught afterwards rather than escaping back to your capital?
