I was thinking a fun addition to the game might be named Neighborhood districts that have a chance to appear in cities.
So if you're playing as Egypt, maybe a Neighborhood district called Little Sumeria might pop up around one of your cities. Or maybe Japantown. Maybe there could be artwork so that the districts have the architectural style of the home civilization rather than the style of the adjacent city.
I'm not really sure how (or if) this could be done or what the effects of such a neighborhood would be. I was thinking something like a big Tourism boost since those neighborhoods tend to be big tourists traps in the real world. A downside might be that if war breaks out between you and the other civilization, the district might become a fifth column.
