Yes, the Parthenon is definitely worth it for a cultural victory. The AI does seem to have a strong proclivity for building it though, and I've missed it a couple of times.
Petra is even better now it gives a free caravan, and coupled with Morocco's Kasbahs, you basically have double-Petra. It's insane!
Also, the Colossus is very strong now, giving a free cargo ship and extra trade route.
Petra is more or less required for Morocco, ditto the Colossus for Venice.
The Parthenon is a very good target for Brazil - problem is that the AI REALLY likes the Parthenon and will more often than not go for it instead of the Great Library.
On that note, the Great Library is now even more useful early-game to house your great works of writing (which will be the earliest kind of great works you get.)
Prora, despite being a massive what the hell choice, I've found to be very useful in my Autocracy games (helps that the AI tends to avoid going for Autocracy.)
Yea I like to go for Petra and Colossus for the free trade routes. On Emperor and above it seems impossible to get both wonders however. In addition one can't get Stonehenge and Temple of Artemis. Crazy.
I find Mausoleum of Halicarnusses to be a must have due to all the new great people.
I really like Broadway, Uffizi, and Louvre but that could be because I like the culture game.
