Events.txt ????

Hey u guys!
I have been playing civ2 for almost 7 years now and I am just now getting interested in scenario creation.
I have been trying to use events but I just can't seem to get them to work.
Could somebody please explain how it works

What version of Civ II do you have? Version 2.42 and below does not support events.

I had the origianal but i used the mod available at this site to patch it up to mge

all the scenarios for mge work, and they have events

You need to be more specific on what the problem is.. also have you read the FAQ (sticky thread above) about making scenarios?

What you need is a copy of the FW manual - it's got a lenghty section on getting events to work. I *think* that there's a version online somewhere... (try the Civ2 section of this site)

IIRC the manual on this site is the "Classic Manual".

Ah, OK. I think that someone posted the relevent section on this board sometime last year...

Perhaps, JMac, you'd be better off just looking at an already finished events file. Or just use the in-game events editor, it's quite sufficient...
