Everything is fine except...(cant load)

Hi everyone, I've been a reader of this forum for a long time and have enjoy it. So I'm gonna start by saying thanks to everyone for sharing your passion of the game.

Now back to the reason why I decided to post here : Well I cant play my favorite game cause I cant load anything I saved. In facte new saved game wont load. All the other aspect of the game work well. I can play without problems and nothing have change on my computer setup. When I try to load a game, the app. seems to go in a kind of infinite loop and does not respond anymore.

So you can't load any savegames?
What about saves from other people like e.g. this?

(note: If it turns out to be the same problem like in the linked thread, then I'll merge both)

Thanks for your quick answer ! I'm not at home so cant try what your saying. I've checked the other thread and it look really similar, but I dont think its a mather of corrupted files, I know what the other guy is saying, I've also validated the integrity of my files with steamed and it says one single files cant be confirm and it reload it. But the weird thing is I would espect at least an error message from the game, but no, its simply cease to answer. Also, the saved file is created and from what I'v read on other forum it can be load by others. Everything was working ok priore vanilla civ last patch. I've read something about other than english charaters in the saved path causing this? But I tried saving my game on steam and got the same problem.

(by the way, forgive my mispelling I still learning english... hehe)

Most likely, this is caused be special characters in your save path (like your windows username, etc.). We should have this corrected shortly. A temporary work-around is to create a new windows account on your PC with a very plain username.

I have the same problem as the thread starter except I have a normal windows name/account and changing that does not work.

Here is my path to the civ5 things:
C:/Users/Sasha/My Documents/My Games/ Sid Meier's Civilization 5/

The game runs FLAWLESS until I press LOAD GAME, then it crashes every single time.
I have tried all the suggested fixes and no help.

Any idea whats going on if its not the user name?
