Whatever deities that exist have finally answered my silent prayers! If I do not buy this with days of it's release I'm going to car-bomb something! This is going to be the best thing to ever hit the gaming world. Can someone post a link to this Demo you speak of? I'm hoping this will be something like Dungeon Keeper, but in a modern context so it won't scare off those who don't like fantasy.
I just played the demo and from what I can see, this well be an awesome game! I expecially liked the interagation scene where the guard is dancing to Micheal Jackson.
Played the demo, can't buy the game yet (esp. for $49.99!) since my current home computer won't play it properly. Still, it's on my buy list for the next month or so.
I got it at CompUSA, after finding I still had a giftcard from there with $45 left, so I got it. It pretty fun. I just love picking a random minion and having my Evil Genius kill him, just for fun.
Well, CGW gave it a pretty low review (only 2.5 out of 5 stars), but it was on sale at Gogamer for $29.90 (midnight madness or whatnot) so I have it on order.
For those of you who have it, are you still enjoying it? Is it much like Dungeon Keeper? I loved both DK and DK2.
This game is Very addictive and very enjoyable. I have no idea what Jeff Green (Managing Editor of CGW who reviewed Evil Genius and gave it 2.5 stars) was thinking. Some of his complaints were about lack of information in the manual, but sheesh, there's a freaking help menu with all the info you could ever need and it Includes Video that shows you how to do things.
Anyway, I'm ranking this one right up there with the original Dungeon Keeper, which it most resembles.
My rating is 8.2 out of a possible 10, which is pretty high for me.
So this game really is good. Me want!. I hope it has hit the stores here too because I'll be running there to get my copy. By the way has my P4 2133, 1024MB, R9800SE any chances to run it smoothly?
@Rheinmetall: I think that will do the trick. Here's the minimum configuration in case I'm wrong:
Pentium III or higher
128 MB RAM - Windows 98SE/Me
256 MB RAM - Windows 2000/XP
NVIDIA GeForce 2 or equivalent with 16 MB RAM
DirectX 9.0b
1.4 GB hard drive space
So I start a new game today, and of course, they have to release the patch shortly afterwards.
Let's get some pics of our lairs up; I want to see what you villains are up to.
