I find that the defining factor for an enjoyable game of Civ V is what kind of a map you get. And since it usually takes quite a while to actually see your full surroundings, this can lead to frustration if you find after a nice start that you really don't like the complete map at all.
(I know this problem only relates to those who are into immersion and aesthetics of your empire, but that's where I find my inspiration).
I would like to see examples somewhere how the different map options usually look like in practice.
So there are of course the very small example pictures on the 'set up game' window.
But they only tell so much.
It would be nice to know what kind of maps you usually get with each of the many premade map types. And also what exactly some of the other map options do in practice.
Maybe somewhere is a thread or website that covers all the map options of CIV V?
