Expanded terrain mods?

This is probably something of a long shot, but I figured it might be worth asking.

Does anyone know of any mods (for Civ IV, obviously) that involved adding more terrain types? (Particularly more types of forest/jungles et al.)


Specifically, I have (for a good number of years) periodically had in my head a sort of jungle fantasy world, but just playing with all the tropics turned up doesn't feel quite right. So I wonder if there are mods out there which add more variety of terrain (more than just graphically) that might sort of fit in that niche.



It is, as I say, rather unlikely; I know it's not really the sort of thing even the big mods seem to do much of (that I can see) and unlikely to be a thing other than trying to do it myself (and by the time I'd figured out how to do it, the occasional-urge would probably have ebbed...!), but I thought it might be worth a query.

Rise of Mankind A New Dawn and I think also Caveman 2 Cosmos add more forest features including rainforests and jungles.

Completely missed that and I even looked at C2C! (I did try that mod once a loooooooong time ago, but it was a bit much for my computer at the time.)

Yeah, C2C and ROM add too much stuff for my liking and they also occupy too much memory.

Incidently, as I looked at the initial notes and saw they seem to share a lot of features, what does Rise of Mankind do that C2C doesn't (or is it a sort of not-quite-so-much pared down version...?)

I really do not know. I think C2C has it's advantages because @strategyonly is a modder and he created a LOT of modular civs for C2C.
But of course ROM-AND has the Mega Pack which adds a ton of new civs.
I really don't know which one is better, I have installed both of them but never actually played a game with both of them because I prefer a nice game on the Earth Evolution 2 map with all the civs starting in correct positions.
It also depends what you like. If you like over whelming mods I felt that C2C added more units/techs then ROM and ROM-AND.
Also ROM crashed a lot for me so that is the reason I uninstalled it.
