Explaining the Vassal System (an attempt)

War Weariness is not affected by who declares war, just by where the fighting takes place. WW is higher if you are fighting on enemy ground than if fighting on home soil. But you do avoid the "You declared war on my friend" penalty if your intended victim declares war on you.
Sorry for the necro but is there any War Happiness in Civ4 as in Civ3? Thanks and Happy New Year everybody!

Sorry if my question was covered before, but I didn't find anything.

Several times I observed that I own a tile, although my vassal has a much higher percentage. I have attached an example from a recent game. Is there an explanation for this and how is it calculated?

If the tile is in the BFC of one of your cities, then your vassal automatically cedes the tile to you, no matter what the relative % culture between you and your vassal are.
