I play Utopia online from work. Nowadays that's just about it. I just managed to finish Gta3 (very atypical) before I had my daughter. Other than that I've played a lot of the Baldur's Gate series the last few years (played it through including the final battle of the last expansion). And I didn't stop playing Civ2 (my fav alltime game) until Civ3 came out.
RPGs and Strategy are my favs.

I used to play almost exclusively RTS games. More specific, I was a big fan of the Command & Conquer series (e.g. Red Alert I & II, Tiberian Sun and their expansion sets). I was even very excited about their new 3D RTS Generals until somebody at work introduced me to Civ3. I've been totally hooked for over a year now and didn't even remotely considered playing Generals.

This changed a bit however when the same guy who hooked me up with Civ, told me how challenging Generals was. So now, I occasionally (read: when I finished my GOTM  ) play Generals. To be honest, it's a nice game, but ... :D

On the few occasions my wife feels like playing a computer game, we usually play tetrinet. (When I just had my first pc, I used to play this all the time until I constantly tried to fit blocks in the empty spaces on the pages of the book I was reading :crazyeye: )

I used to play a lot of RTS, like starcraf, age of empires and Dune2000, but now my time exclusively goes to civ3....

I still play Total Annihilation, Age of Empires/Conquerers head to head with my stepson. TA remains my favourite MP game. I enjoy Moo2 and (whisper this one) Ascendancy). I still play MtG Microprose version. I've bought MOO3 but havent even installed it yet.

Trainz / MS Train Simulator come out to play from time to time.

Still working through Grim Fandango - competition v wife ;)

I've tried to play Civ2 again but can't after playing Civ3.

The only other game I've even looked at this year is MOO3.

It was so bad that I just threw it in the drawer

I dl'ed the "code patch" and had another look this week but I still can't see where the "game" & "fun" part comes in

Thank goodness for Civ and GotM

@Col
TA, hmm... Ascendancy, hmm... Yep, I can see them on my shelf. :)

Besides civ1-3, the games that I've probably spent the most time on are the Heroes of Might&Magic series, and the Might&Magic RPGs.

I only play strategy/RPG games these days, with one exception: I sometimes still play the old Konami ROMS from the MSX system (Nemesis 1-3, Salamander, Knightmare etc.), using an emulator as my real one has been gathering dust for years now in the attic.

I'm a huge fan of the Civ sequel (unless you could not figure it out ;) ).

As for other games... These last years I've played SimCity 1-2-3, Age of Empires 1-2-3, Railroad Tycoon 2, Tropico, Heroes 3... Mostly strategy games, as I am crap in the rest. And I really like to play the Age sequel, but I can't play it so that I become a killer : I always go for full economic profitability ang get crushed by good opponents, especially with Age of Mythology, a really good game I have to play again (after several months playing Civ3 exclusively !).
I also play Nintendo games from time to time. I'm a fan of the Mario and Zelda sequels, although I did not play the latest ones...

EDIT : Oh yeah ! With emulators, the Ancient games resurrect and it's a lot of fun ! Go go Street Fighter 2 ! F-Zero ! Mario World ! Funny, the only time I've finished Zelda 3 on the SNES was on an emulator actually.

Too many to name. Probably over a 100 hundred games since 16 years ago. Had played utopia and archmage as well as mudding during my school days. Only playing Civ3 now though.

Civ 3 is the only game I've played very seriously for the last 4 years or so - I was on a several-year break from gaming or any type before Civ3 came out. Before that I used to be a real gaming fanatic.

I did try getting into Master of Orion 3, but I found it confusing, boring, and just not as attractive as civ :)

We’re definitely the same breed here. I would only repeat what you’ve said before. Let me think of some TBS that you haven’t mentioned. How about the UFO series (as long as it was TBS), how about the Panzer General series. I also played East Front IIRC, an excellent World War TBS that never saw the appreciation that it deserved.

I would also need to repeat that I’ve played only Civ3 recently, with MOO3 having a 3 inch dust cover (never knew they finally released the patch). Sirp, I take it that you were one of the developers if you have been playing civ3 for four years. ;)

I play bridge or pitch card games when my in-laws come to town.:)

Hide-and-Go seek with my 2yearold is an everyday thing.

I have no time for anything but Civ on my computer, but I used to like Railroad Tycoon II.

Yup :)
I've played Ufo (the first two) and Heros 2 and 3. I played all the campaigns of the original Heros 3 + Armageddons Blade. They were neat. Ufo was cool in that you often thought the aliens had the better of you and then you just barely managed to scrape through.
I should add chess and bridge, Axis and allies and other board games, Rolemaster RPG (not much time for those lately though :(). I play football once a week (although that's a sport more than a game I didn't want to spam the boards even more by opening yet another thread lol).
Now if only my job and social life would stop interferring with my gaming :D

Odd that nobody's mentioned the Battle Isle series. I had a lot of fun with those.

I too tried MOO3 and played for a bout 3 hours and hated every minute of it. Haven't played anything but civ3 since it came out and before that played civ2. Played a bit of SimGolf but that was only a 2 week hiatus from civ.

Love to play cards as well but don't have the opportunity.

Favorites are Euchre, hearts and setback (pitch). And when I have a little extra cash 2-4 Texas Holdem at Foxwoods.

I had plans to buy MOO3 last fall and then the release was delayed. The GOTM started to improve drastically about the same time so that when MOO3 finally did come out I had no interest in buying it. So bottom line I really only play civ 3, and am no longer thinking about buying MOO3, although I did love MOO2 and MOO.

Likewise, was interested in MOO3, but looked at the forums for it and decided Civ 3 is much better.

Love strategy stuff on my PC: Heroes 2/3, Civ 1-3 & SMAC, NOT play the world. Also some single player RPG, FPS and RTS games, don't have internet (at home...). Also enjoy occasional party games on one of my flatmates Gamecube.

Since Christmas all I've played has been Civ III - PTW, but before that, I played lots of Age of Empires and Flight Sims for the F-18.

Older games were all the Railroad Tycoons, SimCities, RollerCoaster Tycoon.

But usually, my Playstation games of Grand Theft Auto - that game is so wrong, yet I love it so much - just like my wife.;)

Oh yeah, I really loved MOO2. I have had a special bond with that game, because in 94 I totaled my Firebird had multiple broken bones, all legs, arms, etc and all I did, while bed ridden for months, play MOO, eat and sleep.

Huge gaming fanatic. Like Qitai, too many to name. Both on PC, playstation and Nintendo (on occasion). Civ 3 currently occupies all of my time because there is nothing else out there that held my attention. It was Warcraft 3 before this. Tried Rise of nations...found it too much like a cross between Civ 3 and Age of Empires..and ..i dunno..I get I just did not get into it.

Very much looking forward to:
Half Life 2 (preview for this are incredible)
Doom 3
Civ 3 expansion pack.
The new Final Fantasy games.
World of Warcraft

I'm currently playing Diablo2 online - finally got networked.

Recently I've played starcraft, SMAC and homeworld/cataclysm. I can't get AoE to run anymore, but the priest are too powerful anyway.

There is an interesting builder-type game called Ceasar3 that I enjoyed playing. I always get stuck at the 6th level, though. You have multiple armies with elephants come at you. I can never rebuild fast enough after the first attack.

I have a copy of Morrowind that someone let me borrow. It's a very involved single player RPG. I'm almost afraid to try it because it could take all my time if I get into it.
