ok, in an old thread Defense Minister Ranger99 gave me control of the next galley built from our fair harbors. unfortunately, i forgot to give instructions for that said galley last TC, and it is now exploring our own continent. i would like that galley to find and discover the new continent. but how we should get there should be up to you. IMO, we should go directly west from the city of Styx and hope to find land quickly. i know there is a chance the galley might sink, but i think the risk is worth the possible reward. we could find the 2nd continent, and get a monopoly on trade with these nations. so Fanatikos, what say you?

Our first galley and first unit in the navy of Fanatikos and we send it on a highly likely suicide mission. This galley is important and IMO should not be thrown away like this. I understand the value of exploration but we may need this galley. I say wait for one more then start going on these endeavors.

Actually we have built several other Galleys, but have 2 at the moment. The Galley in question was commissioned specifically for the suicide mission. It's crew knew precisely what they were getting into. They seem to have got cold feet however and are now wandering down our coast towards Germany. Perhaps they were hoping to meet up with our other Galley which is approaching the same region but from the North.

I revise my first post, I think we should commence the mission immideatly.

Our fine sailors discovered Japan before they perished in a tragic accident at sea. The other galley has completed its tour of our own landmass and nearby islands, and it could be sent back to attempt the same crossing, or try one to the north or east.

I would want to try the same crossing again. With Japan so bass ackwards, you have to wonder whether they even have neighbors on their island, nevermind neighbors worth contacting. However, if we can reach their shore, we could get a better idea of the look of the world, and perhaps set a safer course for exploring the Eastern Seas.

the discovery of Japan is fine news and hopefully will give something else for our sailors to look foward to. since we reached the 2nd continent, albeit the galley died soon afterwards, there is no reason not to go down the same path as before. we've found a sea route that works, so we should continue on it. I would like another galley to traverse the ocean and hopefully discover more land and meet more civs!

England seems to have entered the middle ages about the same time as Japan (seen from F7).

I'm going to be really honest with you, I saw the reports quickly this morning, noted our 5-tech lead, and dismissed Japan as a novelty.

Today, I read some more, hear about their Military strength, but moreover, that there are rumors that he have captured Babylonian workers, along with your information, and have noticed my thoughts to be novelty.

So, I retract my comment, and give this: The Real New World lies to the West! Let us continue our exploration! Charting the right course, one of our ships would only have to survive one storm-season at sea.
