FA Consulate T3 D5- Japanese Relations

ok, so we have finally crossed the great western ocean and found land. we now have diplomatic relations with the Japanese. they are 5 techs behind and don't have any MA techs. they are also annoyed at us for some reason. they also have a few luxuries we don't, so we might want to trade with them centuries from now...but what relations do we want with them now? should we try to improve their mood and trade with them? build an embassy? declare war? it's up to you fellow Fanatiks.

Embassy, build a relationship and get them polite. The last thing we need now is another civ who might go to war with us, or hates us. we need a real relationship with a foreign civ.

I would just like to point out that Japan has more than 100 points than us in score and our Military is weak compared to thiers. They would be a very valuable ally.

Valuable ally in trading but we may be able to help ourselves by making an MA with them aganist another civ. That way if they send galleys some might sink weakening them. Anyway, a war is stupid but a relationship is great.

seeing that we want friendly relations with Japan, i'm going to request to construct an embassy with them next TC. if the people disagree however, post in this thread or my gov. thread and i'll rescind the request.
