Here is my proposal:

Eastern Wars

1. Sign a RoP with Greece. The Mutual Protection Pact is still in effect for 9 turns.

2. Send a couple cavalry down to Persia using our RoPs to use American, French and Greek roads. Put it in a vulnerable place and allow the Persians to attack it. This will bring Greece back into the war.

3. After the Greeks enter the war again, as soon as we can go again, sign an Alliance with the French against the Persians. Right now this would cost 23 gpt, but there is no way to be sure what it will cost in a few turns. I would like to give the DP approval to spend 30gpt or less on this alliance.

Western Wars

1. Sign trade embargos with the Russians against both the Babs and the Persians. This is certainly debatable if people feel we should attack the Russians within 20 turns.

2. Let all of our treaties run out with the Iroquois. They should be our next and final target until we have access to Panzers. I believe we should prepare to attack them, taking all of those cities completely surrounded by our borders within a couple turns, in 17 turns, as soon as our luxury deal runs out.

I compleately Agree with this :). Though I give the say on where the Cavalry should go ;) (Since they are heading in that direction anyway).

We should wait untill the Treaties with the Iroq's have expiered and the apperance of the Panzer to come into play.

I completely agree too. I think these treaties will definitely benefit us against Persia and secure the western front.

This plan looks good.

Also, I have to disagree with CivGeneral on a single point. I would rather see what we can do to the Iroquois with cavalry. Those cities there look like easy picking once supply lines are cut off.

Hmm perhaps you are Right. I have planned to slowly Phasing out the Cavalry once the Panzers has rolled of the assembaly line. In fact (BTW Oct have you been snooping in my office again ;) ) I was planning on picking a few cities here and there with our Cavalry units. But one fact stands clear, Pilage there trade routes of the Iroq.

I agree that we could take the isolated three Iroquois cities, and maybe a few northern/ former Russian cities with cavalry. Now we just need so see what resources we will have to cut off.

The reason I let the one trade deal go (the one with 17 turns left) is so that we can build up our cavalry. Right now, we only have 25 cavalry and 6 elite knights. I'd like to attack with maybe 50, and some cannons/artillery and rifles.

BTW, America is backwards in tech, so they should be our next target after the Iroquois.

Ok. If there are no objections, I will include much of this in my turn chat instructions. I will let the military department handle the particulars of a short war with the Iroquois, though I do insist we wait until that trade agreement can be cancelled.

I've also posted a trade discussion thread, which shows some treaties expiring. I could make that Iroquois trade, as it's only 3 turns later.. (I don't think I posted it, but it nets us 20+gpt for a tech).

I have an objection. I dont see why we are pursuing this fake war? Is it to keep the Americans and French off our backs?

Goonie, we don't want a war on all sides. The AI will get bored, and attack another target.

Because the Persian's keep picking a fight. And to seal our peace treaties with other nations with alliances. And to reduce Persian influence in the Southeast. And to keep the Greeks and French occupied with the Persians so that their economies don't grow as quickly. And to convince the AI civs to continue to build hordes of cavalry that will be obsolete very soon. I am sure I could think of a few other reasons...

And Trade is drawing off of whatever economy Greece DOES have.

In Civ3, war does a few things:

1 - It makes the AI set aside a certain gpt income. (it seems to be 20gpt or so)

2 - It makes the AI produce units instead of growth and science

3 - It can make the AI reduce science so that it can support the war.

I like the Evil part . . .

But I get the impression that my province is going to be a battle-mat one more time.

Ok, Im convinced.

We have to bring that cavalry back! That MPP tactic won't work. I just remembered something...

This thread confirmed my suspiscions. Here's a quote:

If this is the case, England and France would only be required to declare war on Germany if German units attacked your units or cities within your own cultural boundaries.
