Famous Last Words

Voltaire.

"Please don't let me fall."
Who?

Babe Ruth.

Now for something a little more obscure:

"And now, in keeping with Channel 40's policy of always bringing you the latest in blood and guts, in living color, you're about to see another first--an attempted suicide."

In the words of a not really famous man when asked "Do you have any last words?"
"No."

Guess again, my pretties. It is rather obscure.

Christine Hubbock, who then shot herself on air (yuk!).

Much easier:
What’s this?

OK, the intent here is a quiz type structure, in a cumulative fashion.
They have to be real documented last words from history, not ones made up. Match the words with the person through your powers of perception.

To begin with, an easy one: "Shoot straight, ya bastards!"
Who?

Just to finish the sentence:

DONT MAKE A MESS OF IT;)

Wow! I never heard about this. When and where did it happen?

Chris Hubbock was an American newscaster who killed herself during a live broadcast in Sarasota, Florida in the early 1970's.

And to answer Stormerne, Leonard Bernstein.

Next: "Put that bloody cigarette out." Who?
