Once again, I regret not using the HoF mod and savescumming, because I had yet another phenomenal start, this time as the Zulu. The capital was meh (and so food-starved I had to resort to farming ivory), but the rest of the continent was as juicy as they come. On noble marathon, you can take out an entire continent with Impis if you're quick and lucky enough, and end up with 15 cities by 1500 BC. It helped that most of the AI cities on my continent started with, like, double gold or some other commerce resource. Then comes oracling education at 1080 BC, ~600 BC communism and a 1090 AD (t518 or t166 on normal) space victory...

My tech path was pretty standard for this type of thing. Worker techs (helped by nabbing a bunch of lucky huts), BW, math, alpha, currency. Then civil service slingshot...except hard research CS and paper and get education for free instead :crazyeye:. After that hard-beeline communism and lib it, followed by electricity, assembly line, industrialism, rocketry, fusion, genetics, composites, and ecology. Needless to say I left the other continent in the dust. I think back to my first Mao game I posted here which was (semi) iso and think about how much I've learned and how far I've come, so...thanks to everyone who's guided me <3.

Overall, I'm surprised I did that well, since I wasn't financial, industrial, or philosophical in this game. Agg was weak (Ikandas became irrelevant with state property) but expansive proved pretty useful. Oh, and one last thing, if you look at the name of the empire...Wakanda forever!

I sort of regret only visiting Japan via youtube, but, well, couch to TV and back surely was shortest voyage to there from my homecountry...

Use BUFFY next time, then you'll probably set a new record:)
Funny thing, I never used financial or philosophical in my space games. Used industrious once but results were underwhelming. I think even expansive is better than any of those because it helps to get the intial setup for conquest faster. Especially on lower difficulty levels where you can't steal many workers early and first conquered cities are unlikely to have granary.

Weeell...how was I supposed to get all the worker techs and BW by turn 30 on marathon? :crazyeye:

The headline says fastest ever.. is that for you, Undefeatable, or anyone? This is a thoroughly impressive performance but I recently followed a thread by Wastin' Time with a BC launch on Deity! Not in any way a criticism, I've never broken the 20th century...

important part here is *on Noble. My fastest Deity with NTT and PA (with Charlie) is ~1760AD :D
