Fatal error-memory saver option....

So I am sure this has been brought up, but I can't seem to find anything about exactly the same issue. When alt-tab'ing or trying to change resolution in game I get a CTDT with the following error message:

Fatal error, memory saver option does not allow configuration to...can't remember the rest, I'm at work. I believe I have the work around from reading other posts, but wanted to see if this makes sense.

I know I can force start up resolution in the ini file. And change memory options as well in the same file or in game. Should doing these things make the crash for this particular error stop?

I must have turned down the graphics options to lowest with my previous card. It's been a few months since I played the game. Just installed a new 7800GTX in my XPS Gen2 lappie and wanted to max everything out again to see how it works. But ran into above problems.

If you turn on the memsaver option in the ini file, you cannot swap tasks. If you need to alt-tab during game, you must turn memsaver off.

Yes, you can set resolution in the ini file.

BTW you can delete the ini file and the game will recreate with default settings.
