Action/Adventures (Zelda)
Fast-Paced Strategy (Advance Wars, NOT civ which simply pales in comparison )
Strategy RPG (FFTA, Fire Emblem)
Action/Button Mashers- (Viewtiful Joe)
Platformers- (Mario)
Fighting- (SSBM, Soul Callibur II)
Racing- (Mario Kart, F-Zero)
Sports I generally hate, but somehow Mario Tennis was fun (no idea why)

Wow, that list makes me look like such a Nintendo fanboy

Sim City 2000 is da king!
That and Conway's Life, and variations!

RPG - I want to immerse myself.

Actually I prefer a bit of FPS in there as well, so I would say my ideal would be something similar to Deus Ex, but with a bit more RPG style thrown in so you could actually join the Illuminati or MJ12 and do missions for them. If you get my drift.

Turn-Based Strategies and gung-ho killing games(Diablo, GTA, Serious Sam)depending on my mood.

I can't stand simulations with the exceptions of the SimCity series, and military flight simulators. Sports games are OK, but my favorites are Strategy and Action (more specifically FPS).

You just love saying that, don't you? Oh well, I never miss an oppurtunity to say Sonic pales in comparison to Mario.

And what's wrong with loving (by far) the best game company out there?

Anyway, I'm a man of many genres, though sports and puzzles certainly occupy the bottom of the list. My favorites, I suppose, would be Adventure and RPGs. Now that Square has returned to Nintendo, things'll be great for me!

But Advance Wars DOES make Civ look like crap!

Then again, so does FFTA and Fire Emblem.

Yeah. Those games are excellent!

And by the way, since this is a CIV site, it is quite predictable that strategy will get the most votes.
