what is your favorite unit in general? i personally like the immortals and the settlers. who doesn't want world domination and more cities?

what can i say? i love cavalry. especially the sipahi if im the ottomans. theyre powerful AND can move 3 per turn.

I would have to say that the immortals r my favorites cause nothing can defeat it in the acient age so this leads to an early victory.

It's hard to narrow down just a single unit as there are so many that are handy at any given time.
That said, my fav's would be
1) Swordsman or the celtic UU: for the early attack.
2) Knights
3) Cavalry
4) Artillery
5) Mech infantry
6) Modern armour
and last but not least.......

I love those Egyptian War-chariots. As powerfull as horseman, but only a fraction of their costs, build them in masses and your opponent will shiver. And why aren't workers in the list, they are the second important unit in the game. Love to get the most of my land.

I am an early builder, and usually dont get going really well militarily til the modern age, so I would have to say MA is my favorite unit, followed closely by ICBMs.

Infantry.

The turn when you finally get infantry in every border city after the insane cavalry wars of the early industrial, that's a good turn.

Cha-chink. My favorite civ sound. Sounds like safety.

Settlers and Workers are kind of unique in that their functions cannot ever be even partially filled by any other units. Discounting those, I think the prize goes to Cavalry - a very stable offensive unit that is useful for a full age and have been the true instrument of almost all my military wins.

Simply because of their sheer power and domination for a long and very critical period, CAVALRY are the best

I say swordsmen, simply because of what they mean to most of my games. My first significant push into enemy territory usually consists of swordsmen. They take control of "my island." They may not be the most fun in terms of destructive ability, but they certainly can help you be in a great position for the rest of the game.

I also like a unit that is not original part of the game, made by Balou (i think is name) and is called Modern Infantry.
