What are your two favourite Civ traits?
Here are the options.
1. Militaristic
2. Industrious
3. Expansionistic
4. Commercial
5. Religious
6. Scientific
7. Seafaring
8. Agricultural

Please limit your choices to 2.

Oops I'm the first voter. Well, like that the results are no surprise: agricultural and religious are both in first place people!! Agri for that crucial early expansion and religious because I'm just addicted to those temples, I gotta have 'em and soon which is a stupid first thing to build in your just founded 1-shield towns if you're not religious. I just cannot resist a nice early culture + a 1-turn anarchy when switching govs. Not that I don't play other traits but those 2 just really guarantee victory on my current level (monarch) while the others still leave me struggling.

agri and religioues for me too. about the same reasons as said before. I also like having scientific just so i have some relativily cheap but powerful cultural improvements.

I like the scientific and expansionist traits. (I've always had a soft spot for the Russians since Civ1.) On a large map expansionist is great - especially when you luck out and get a free settler and/or a city out of it! Scientific was always a great trait, but it's got even better now that you have more of a chance of getting those scientific GLs. But the thing I like best is how these traits work together to give you a great tech lead. Knowledge is power, people!

I ran a similar thread to this just over 6 months ago.

At the time I agreed with Relig / Agri as I played continent maps.

Now I would probably go Agri / Ind. Getting that terrain productive and those cities connected is vital.

The Duplicate
I couldn't find it on Civ3 Conquest forum area, so I asumed that their was no poll. This poll in the link should be here and and not in Civ3 general discussions, because it is Civ3 Conquests and not the other two platforms, which is what I thought was for Vanilla and PTW. If the moderators will put the link in this forum, then I'll gladly have this poll shut down.

agricultural and industrial for me as i've gone off scientific after I realised on diety you just can't keep up with the AI!

A tough choice to make really since there are situations where every trait can shine (eg. Expansionist on Pangea maps).

I choose industrious and religious. Industrious because it is the most balanced and the most versatile. When could you NOT use fast workers? Plus it can make your other trait, like militaristic and commercial, stronger -build roads to your enemy's borders faster or mine/irrigate your land and make more money quicker.

I'm addicted to minimal anarchy turns and cheap temples, so the religious trait is another favourite - rightly or wrongly. :p

Industrious for sure, as darius explains.
And Ag is excellent, since food is growth is power (and it makes desert worthwhile.)
But i'm addicted to Rel's cheap temples too, expanding borders and culture-flips - one of the joys of the game. And the thought of wasting 7 or more turns just to switch govs... that could be hundreds of years!
How can you not want Sci's tech benefits? And rushing Wonders is still intoxicating, whatever leader does it.
But Mil really suits my play style more than any other - MGLs make Armies!!! and FPs! and barracks are must-builds for me anyway...
Seafaring won one game for me; it's really fun to dominate the seas, bombard coasts, invade at will...
Expansionist was my first favorite trait. Goody huts are actually good, early tech lead, and free Settlers! But it's for short games...
So - I can't pick just two. Sorry.
And probably Commercial is better than i think; i love extra cash, and if corruption really is lower...

I thought I responded to this kind of a thread already somewhere...
How true.

I chose militaristic & industrious. Theyre best for declaring war and creating infrastructure in lands conquered.
