What is Your Favourite Mainline Civ Game?

Civ 5 has decent locations on the map to start a city.

Started with Civ II then Civ IV-> Civ III -> Civ V -> Civ VI

IV remains my favourite, very closely followed by V and II.
I wanted to like VI so much, but could just not get into it no matter how much I tried.

Loved the exploration and empire building in IV. Felt like I could just sit back and see where things go.
The music was great, tile set too, taking over other civs territory / cities via culture was very fun.

5and 2 are tied for me. Both incredible Civ experiences.
4 is next- primarily cuz it saved us from the experience of 3.
Then 6. VG entry- just not as mesmerizing as 2 and 5 nor as important to the franchise as 4.
1. The OG. Nuff said.
3 What a disappointment this one was. Yeah, I still played it a bunch but just a letdown after 2 MPGE.

Civ 5 for the ai competence and good mods. And the replay at the end.

Civ 6 I dislike for ai incompetence and the awful loyalty system. And lack of a replay.

I don't think that's a unique feature to the iteration. I had no problems (save a few infamous rarities on random maps and starts) on Civ1-3, though Civ6's external city districts do complicate that issue, certainly.
