Simply put this is a poll for what your FAVOURITE difficulty is to play on. Not the highest difficulty, but your favourite.

For reference; mine is Emperor because it offers a higher difficulty than average but also allows a game to carry on without endless war such as on Deity.

I would guess that Warlord/Prince is my favorite for 22 civ/duel map games :-)

King. That's the current difficulty I'm playing on, but with my recent success, I'm thinking of moving up to emperor.

I'm a prince, honing my skills, but soon I shall be a king. :king:

I'm all over the place really, but I like to play king for fun but if I want a challenge I go to emperor. Sometimes immortal, but I've never made myself finish a diety game.

King. I tried Emperor and AI civs so damn fast to build wonders. then, I returned to King.

This is hard to answer, as I will win my third game in a row on Prince, that becomes a bit boring, but last time I tried King I just failed miserably. So do not know yet.

Although I can usually win on King (and sometimes on Emperor), I just play Prince most of the time as for some reason I really dislike the AIs getting starting bonuses. I guess I also like being able to stomp on them, too...

I usually win on king, but I don't know if I could win on emperor. I don't think deity is anyone's favorite difficulty to play on.

I only play Prince. I don't feel like I'm ready to move up yet, despite having played the Civ series for a long long time. The easier difficulties are facerolling and I win every game, Prince is the right match of a challenge and ability to experiment.

I voted immortal. Deity is just crazy, and emperor too easy, and the jump in difficulty from emperor to immortal is significant. Immortal brings satisfying challenge for me. Sometime win and sometimes loss. For example, last night, I was playing as Poland, and Shaka just walked over me with his imps. Didn't see that coming.

I went with Warlord, as that is my usual starting level with each new Civ game. Still have not finnished all the CIV's in G&K(+DLC) yet at this level. But that might be due to my setting of all my games at marathon, and not being able to play 24/7.

I used to play Emperor on G&K but in my latest games on BNW it seems that the AI has become a lot more competitive on wonders and that's not fun when someone else completes my favorite wonders before me. Perhaps I'll switch back to King if I can't find a way to adapt with the new system.

I recently bought the game...started out slowly and realized that I was learning nothing on the lower difficulties. I moved up to Prince/King and found that I could consistently set myself up for a victory, but kept thinking I could do a little better. However, given that the AI does not start out with "bonuses" and that wonders are not as aggressively pursued - I decided to step it up.

I am presently playing on Immortal - and while I am not winning, I feel that I am learning a lot more. I am consistently able to execute worker steals and get a solid start built for myself. It just seems to be the establishment of a solid mid-game.

I do not want to win all the time - I want to be able to recognize when the game has gotten away from me and what I could have done to improve. If I were to back the difficulty down to Prince/King I am almost positive I would win consistently.

I am also trying to play random civilizations when I load into the game - though I do have a preference for certain civilizations. Sounds boring, but to me that's the way I prefer to play.

Torn between emperor and Immortal.

Emperor is good for a game I know I have a good grasp of and almost certainly will win. Immortal is tougher and I likely won't be able to beat it unless I use a very good civ.

Deity is too structured though, if you don't follow certain rules, there just isnt a way you can win.

Emperor. I usually win about 90% of my games, and I can probably move up to Immortal, but Emperor is the perfect sandbox environment (meaning I don't always have to focus on science and can try new things). The jump to Immortal is pretty significant.

Like many, I find Emperor to be the best balance of fun, difficulty, and unpredictability.
