Does anyone know, if they improved the story and fleshed out the factions a bit more?

Elemental was kinda dull, due the fact that the only difference was between the kingdoms and the empires

That is one of the things they are working on now. Unfortunately it still needs a lot of work. There was a poll recently asking the players what they felt should have the highest priority, and faction differentiation was voted number one. That should be the next thing that they tackle.

Anyone trusting Stardock to produce anything worthwhile must be mad.

Yeah, well, Stardock was only the publisher for that one ... not the Developer, which was Ironclad Games. Count yourself lucky that they didn't manage to fvck that up anyway, like they managed to sink the Demigod franchise from Gas Powered Games. By what I heard it was GPGs fault to rely on Stardock to provide the multiplayer network architecture. Shame, awesome game.

The only Stardock developed game franchises are The Corporate Machine, Galactic Civilizations and Elemental.
