Feature Transfer Error!?!?!?!?!?!! Plz HELP!!

When I go to Install the Game it gets to the part where its installing

Art0.FPK and then a pop up window comes out saying

Feature Transfer Error
Feature: DefaultFeature
Component: Civ4Component
File: D:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).​

And then it closes the install window...

What do I do???

i to get the same exact error message is the disk scatched becuase i think this is why were having this porblum and it is impossible to return now:-( grrr anyone have any other ideas as to what could be causing this

Ah, I just had this problem also.

In your case you need to find the Art0.FPK file somewhere else and paste it into the right directory and try to install again.

I was fortunate all I needed was a wonder movie..

I am having the exact same problem as the OP, with the EXACT SAME popup message. I read GeneralMatt's link, but I do not know what file to be looking for, and i certainly don't know where it belongs if it's not put there automatically by the installer.

It freaks out trying to install C:/.../Assets/Art/Movies/Intros/intro.bik

Can you give me some bonehead step-by-step help?

Edit: Yes, I also tried cleaning my disc. It looked spotless before, and now it looks even better. But I still have the same installation problem.

If you have Civ 4 installed anywhere else, find C:/.../Assets/Art/Movies/Intros/intro.bik and paste it to the same location on the hard drive you are trying to install it to. I will try to write up a better one if you need it.

I have run into this error installing to my laptop after having installed error-free on my desktop. So I have all the files, but can find no Firaxis directory on the laptop after the error occurs. DO I need to add the entire file structure, or am I just not finding it?

Well I ended up adding the file and directories...and it didn't install. Then I tried installing 'for all users', and it did.
