As they have already announced all the civilizations, I started wondering on what features would be in the game.
I've already begun a mental list on things i would like in the game and now decided to share it with the rest of the community:

  • More easily accessible World Builder
This will probably be in, as the game is supposed to be even more modable and whatnot, what I mean is access to the WB from the main menu, where you could start with a blank map, instead of having to start a new game, go to the menu and then select enter world builder.
  • Globe View Borders
It would be a good idea to have this, as it might give you a better idea of how things are, i know that you could use option to show th empires "influential area" (forgot the name), but that only worked in the beginning of the game, later they just mixed and formed a blobbish rainbow which gave no clue as to where the borders were. What I'm asking for is clear lines(maybe with the civ's colours inside of them, to make it extra clear)
  • Emissaries 'n' Embassies
Kinda like in Rhye's. Not everyone is going to agree on this one, but i would think its better if it's harder to make contact with other civ's. Shure, you might know their location, but telephones wasn't developed until the 1800's. It's simple, in order to maintain contact you either need a unit of your own within one of their cities, or at least close to one, or you can build an embassy in one of your cities.
Thats the list
Got any views? Then post 'em!
Own ideas? Post those too!

It has already been confirmed that Civ5 will have a stand alone map making programm :).

Towns. They were great for immersion and fun to pillage. I haven't seen any in any of the screenshots so far. I hope they're still in.

I agree, I *really* want to see Towns make a return too :)!

When we contact other civ leaders they often make threatening or mocking remarks at us but our response is always too diplomatic. Short of declaring a war, why can't we select some nasty remarks to send back to them? In some strategy games you can send a diplomatic insult to provoke a war. It would be fun to see their faces change. Even when we declare war with "your head would look good on a pole" their faces don't change.

That would actually be quite a funny thing to implement. I'd love to see some leaders to look really scared when you declare war on them (like "Sh*t! I wasn't expecting that from him!").

I never really understood why they took that out in Civ4.
