The only strategy I have seen the AI use is the typical attack with hordes of units. Occasionally, they will use a Catapult, but I haven't seen them attack with massed Catapults or Fireballs/Meteor Showers. A human player has to be very careless, or very unlucky to lose a Hero.
 
Hey there. Sorry for the delay. I'm in the middle of moving and things are kind of crazy. Anyway, I played my turns. Mostly, I built troops and stuff. Pelixa founded a new city on our continent and I destroyed it... thanks for a few xp! (no werewolves generated though).

I have several boats with troops headed towards Pelixa's continent. They should arrive in a few turns. Just be careful with them! They are not intended as a full invasion force, just something to sit on a hill/ in a forest somewhere and kill off defends while they attack. Of course, if the odds are in your favor... :)

Curious. Is that because the defenders were Drown units?
 
I played 15 turns. Hope nobody will be upset about that.
I was in the middle of a rather complex movement plan and figured that it would be easier to go through with that than to explain why, what and where to.
The game won't be coming back to me either, so that was my last chance. :)

I researched Feudalism, Taxation, Drama and Celerity is current research. Research doesn't matter much anymore. We can take Pelixa with what we have now.

I razed the southern cities on the main part of her continent (Conrod Mor, Urgorthath, Radonnor, Drathastine) and the northern one of the small part (Scythian). She has Severous in the 2nd city (Iratha) there. A stack with the Baron is on the way down from razing Scythian and a stack of 2 cats, 1 crossbow and a healer just landed on the hill N of the city.
There are 3 shiploads on the sea. They can be used there first or brought directly to the main part. I have a few Galleons hanging around there as well as units have to be ferried after razing Iratha.

Our main attack stack with Bambur and the good maces is on the main part of the continent. They do not have cat support yet, but that is not that important. 3 fireballs will do enough damage to give 100% or close to odds. There are 2 mages in the stack and an Arcane Barge on the coast for fireballs.

With smart combat, this game will be over in 20 turns, max 25.

Unhappiness is starting to be a problem on the home continent. I haven't done much with it as the game is so close to be over.

7th burn down a barb city
9th BARAN DUIN HALF boRN Is kiLLEd in battle :cry: :cry: But we take the city where he dies and we burn and kill everybody in the city

I opened up the Save, just to see how much was left to do with the intention of finishing it up tonight. But...

Pelixa only has two cities left, Feiss Mabdon and Mouresbane. Feiss only has a few defenders, and should fall next turn. I can't see Mouresbane, but after manuevering a few of our ships around I can see that it only has a Stygian, a Merc, and few Archers. This shouldn't take too long. However! I check the victory conditions and see that we control 65.13% of the world's surface. When Pelixa's former capital comes out of revolt, in 4 turns, we might get a Domination win! :eek: That means I only have 4 turns to finish her off!

I abandon Pelixa's capital in the hope that the Stygian guard to the NW will re-capture it. Might as well play it safe.

Turn 1 (Yr. 355)
Feiss Mabdon is captured and razed as predicted. Put Bamber's stack in position to arrive at Moursebane next turn.
Damn! Pelixa's stupid Stygian refuses to abandon his sacred Pigs! 3 turns left...

Turn 2 (Yr. 311)
YES! The Stygian re-captures Pelixa's captial Atheriel-ta-Mealthiel!!
Fleet with Cats, Mages and a few sundry Crossbowman arrives off Moursebane. With some Fireballs and amphibious assaults, Mouresbane falls without having to move the Bamber stack! (I guess I didn't need to worry about that domination win after all!)

Move Bamber stack toward Atheriel-ta-Mealthiel. They're only 2 tiles away, so how about some Fireballs, Stygian...

Atheriol-ta-Mealthiel is re-captured by a Fire Elemental!
All that remains of Pelixa's capital is a smoldering ruin!
