which story is that a reference to?

EDIT: eww, shivery: way better than your quasi-roman stuff LDi. i really liked it.

So do people like the implementation of the treaty system where invoking a god will result in you being held responsible for the contents of a treaty?

i.

My people don't believe in gods. All they believe is hard work will get results. As well as Cassiel gives advice and the Great Lord Immac dictates the effects of the actions of the leaders in this world.

It definately forces you to obey the letter of your alliances, if not the spirit. Personally, I like knowing that anyone can betray you at any time - but forcing people to be a little trustworthy isn't necessarily a bad thing. I guess. Perhaps I'm not the one you should ask... ;)

EDIT: @LDi: Death will get you back. Perhaps not today, perhaps not tomorrow, but undead are not tolerated by His followers. Consider yourself lucky that the Sidar are on another continent, and thus don't have to care.

the thing is, its supposed to be the spirit of the treaty not the word(thats just how god's work- they aren't lawyers) except Dagha (who seems to be a lawyer) .

also- you can break them- junil didn't totally destroy the bannor- it costs them 50g and 25rp - a big bump but not unrecoverable.

And you say that using a gate that sucks in souls from people and use it to create skellies :p.

Oh, and by the way, I found a red stereotypical clown nose on my bed and have been wearing it for 2 hours now. You have to respect those clowns, it is hard to breathe with this...

i.

yes. it helps to remove variables when predicting what people are going to do. i'd also really hate - i mean love - to see what would happen if one of my allies broke our pact. the quadruple whammy smiting smackdown would sure be entertaining to watch

EDIT: @LDI - awesome story. has the ring of Braveheart in it. didn't catch a lovecraft reference though

Charles what is your word on my offer?

I knew that Master was lying to me, as he was horrible at it, but secret codes were not ones I expected, well played

Ah well, I knew that going for knife was a bold, rash, and dumb idea on its own, so I tried to nudge Master so that he would cause double the guards at the new ritual, but seems to have failed!

Yes, I am horrible at deception, it is certainly not my strong point. I didn't think you were completely trusting of me, especially since you wouldn't tell me where you were planning to attack. Well, even if my deception did horribly fail, in the end we got the victory we needed.

By the way, all those pm's really were sent back and forth; I didn't trust myself to emulate Ken's writing style properly. So even though you were right that I was betraying you, you were wrong when you accused me of fabricating those messages. The mess up in quoting was actually caused exactly the way I explained it.

Well Ken fabricated it then. Big difference :p

What I definately did not expect to find was an actual ritual taking place at Ter'al. I did not expect find anything but traps there, such as a fake ritual with heaviley armed ritualists . Secret Codes however saved your skins, without them, I would have succeeded in retaking the knife :p. Gotta write those orders more carefully and more detailed from now on though...

Besides, I knew from the start that you were lying Master, that part about me being part of the Sisters was a complete fabrication on your part or it is that you have a imanagitive mind, the woman I was referring to was Lyrys, sub-commander of Labyrinth organization.

Seriously, can you imagine Sisters killing villagers? You seemed pretty angry about that to not notice. If you have just dropped that part, then I might have trusted you more

Charles what is your word on my offer?

I'd heard that if there is too much peace and revolts start again, you will back stab me.

Also, I'd receive advice against getting you against zombies at turn 1 when I lost 7 food because you can easily back stab me. However, I trust you more than the Amur, although that is not saying much.

I was drawing it from the end of this post:

From Labyrinth Prime Hadel
To The Cultists of Ceridwan

You can't hide, you can't run. We shall hunt you all down to the end of the world if we have to, and we won't stop until every last book to Ceridwan burned, all who preach in her name dead, and all monuments and temples a crumbling dust.

OOC: MasterofDisasta, can you guess who that woman is at the end of my story? I mean I dropped a few hints there and then signifying that Labyrinth and Abysswalkers are the same...

Your story mentioned a young woman, and the representative of the Sisters of Sirona to me was described as a young woman. I thought that if you had contacted them, you would know who their diplo person was, and you did say you had contacted them.

Of course, I didn't think that you actually were them; I thought that you were just trying to convince me that you were. You seemed to be trying to drive this alliance apart, and creating friction over our excellent handling of the Sisters issue could have given you the opening you needed.

Read your comment with the knowlege that Sisters used a young woman (pretty exact description) as their diplo person and it seems you are insinuating something there.

From The Amure League
To the Grigori Nation in Exile

We resent that gesture of distrust on your part. We have apologized, AND PAYED REPARATIONS, to the value of 20 gold.

How CAN you possibly say you trust the hippus more than us.

How CAN you possibly say you trust the hippus more than us.

How? Bad diplomacy, that's how.

@ seon - still can't believe u didn't take my offer. and i don't get why u'd send a message addressed to the Cultists of Ceridwen to MasterofDisasta. and why did u collapse those caves?

I'm very confused at why the Hippus are untrustworthy. Sure there was the whole killing of the Fist, but that was not our plan my soldiers were merely following orders. And if I wanted to conquer you I would of done so during those turns right afterwords but instead I did nothing.

And with the problem of some of my citizens wanting war, I have plans (some are already in effect) to prevent that from happening again.

My offer is out there because I don't wish to see your nation fall to ruin and become a breeding ground for trouble. I want to see the Grigori capable of standing on it's own and just wish to give you a temporary leg to stand on.

It was a public post in the thread on page 74. I know because I just had to dig it up in order to quote it.

Wait, I did? Now I need to write more carefully...

Don't kid with me, you know why I collapsed those caves Ken ;). If you don't know then there is something that your acolyte unit has forgotten to share with you.

Oh yeah, and I didn't take up your offer because I am polite and all and don't like killing other people on behalf of Cultists of Ceridwan and all.

Rambles: Dang you treasury! I need that knife and gold!

Sory about the double post but that was actually directed at Cultists of Ceridwan and no one else, not even you Ken

The Hippus/Amur part was a joke about the new OrangeFFh.

I trust Hippus more because I am the leader of it. Still, I can see your point.

OOC:

Alright, to those of you complaining about my turning the node into a Mind node. I have two reasons why it shouldn't bother you.

My choices were: Mind, Water, or keeping it at Entropy (except under my control, which would not have gone over well with anyone) Water was useless to me, really, so Mind was my best choice.

Additionally, It's my land, and my Mana, so Effe off. :p
