hey, this topic has come up time and time again. but as TF has disabled the search function, i can't bring up one of the old topics.

Anyway, wots the latest in cool filesharing programs, I used to be using WinMX, that was good, but now it has become unrealable, it keeps crashing, and nobody is sharing their files.

So any suggestions?

Give me a better connection with a good upstream and I'll share with you :)

Bearshare

(I know, I'm internet illiterate.)

I used to have KAZA, but it did bad things to me. :nuke:

Isn't Morpheus for music only?

Morpheus and KaZaA is the same program anyway

it is not the same program. But they both use the gnutilla network ,just like the other program's like napster, bearshare ,limewire ,gnutilus ,gnotilla ,...
Indeed you find the same files with all those program's.but it is the search engine of morpheus i consider the best. Also Morpheus doesn't fail that much in downloading a file tottaly (almost never) and it is easier to filter bull**** out.

I use Direct connect now. It so much better than all the P2P networks I've been on. Instead of the company setting up servers for the clients, the clients set up their own servers in which they can control the properties for their "hub." For getting large movie or ISO files Direct Connect kicks the teeth out of all the other networks.

In addition to the public hubs, some sites or groups maintain private hubs with access restricted only to people they know. If you can get into a good private hub, your days of peicemeal crap are over. I'm on one of the private hubs designed specifically for movies and game rips and I have no reason to waid around in all that crap that pollutes the internet.

But in any case, the info on this network is massive. They regularly have 300 Terabytes of software available to you.

HTF do I use it?

Can i ask whats so bad about KaZaA?

Hmmm this Dircect connect looks interesting. And i'll try morpheos some day...
Yeah, last night i got a pretty good performance out of KaZaA, i got 10songs in about 6hrs, which is alright for a 56k. I've done better, but then ive done much worse.

KAZA has spyware and installs other things onto your computer, things that caused some of my other programs to crash.

Hmmm, the Direct Connect is pretty cool. Its a bit slow, but its the best place to get warez. I'll try morpheos now.

hey, i reckon you guys might like to see this. First person to tell me whats wrong with it wins a prize, and this is a no bull**** picture.

Try not to use a 56k Modem:p
Normally Kazaa is pretty fast, try right click and "search for more download locations" or however that option is named. give it 2 or 3 tries :)

yes i use a 56k modem, i can usually get one song in 20 min, this was bad day.
But no, you don't win the prize. I wasn't using KaZaA, i was using Morpheos, and somethings broken with it.
