Since Civ IV, I haven't had a game that I was this much excited for it to come out. This game looks genuinely awesome, from what I've heard about it.

I can't wait to see what they did with Civ 5. The whole hex system, lack of unit insta-kill (correct?) and other aspects really has got me interested. Don't get me wrong, Civ IV is probably my favorite game I've ever played, and I don't expect this to one-up it, but I would be extremely happy if it was even close.

I just heard about this today, but finally they're bringing out another Civ. Seems like I was waiting forever for a new one. lol

Yeah! Civ is about the only computer game I ever play so a new addition to the franchise is most welcome!! Time seems to be going fast though.. wasn't Civ4 just released? :)

Time flies when you're having fun. :D

I was super excited for Spore, and was totally let down.
So I guess the moral of my tale of woe, is that No matter how hard he tries, Will is no Sid.

Sid, please please please don't pull a Will on this one....

This is either going to be the greatest game ever or the most terrible game ever according to these forums. Probably both. Welcome to the QQ storm.

Definitely good direction to go. I like the idea of cutting the lengthy war short in CIV V. I think 1 to 2 hours to win a game by either option would be reasonable for normal setting.

Civ V and Elemetal have me both very excited, and both are planned for release this fall. :)

At first I was excited to hear about Starcraft2 and Diablo3, but then I was pulled into the Civ experience by accident... I was bored and borrowed a copy of Civ IV from my best friend. I was hooked ever since. Now I could care less about the flagship Blizzard titles, it is Elemental and Civ5 I want to see. :D

I don't think I'm going to be disappointed with civ5, everything points to the contrary. With that said I'm glad we're not hearing about the game 6 years in advance.
It's hard to wait 6 years for a game you have tremendous hopes for and then be sorely dissapointed when it's finally released. Yes I'm talking about Dragon Age. :(

Just be glad you're not a Duke Nukem fan.

That game was disappointing indeed. So much potential, so little fun. :(

I'm feeling it too. Last couple of years has been a huge let down for PC games, EVERYTHING is a console port it seems. I think Fallout 3 was the last really good PC game I played...and even it was a console port. Civ 5 looks like it will be a lot of fun and hopefully this one will be playable out of the box for me (I had to wait a month for Firaxis to patch Civ 4 to be able to play it :().

I will most definitely agree with you guys on DA, Bioware has really gone down the toilet.
