Hey guys, I hope this will help some of u guys who are having ctd problem or heavy graphic corruption. I tried all what was suggested on this forum and others without no succes.
Yesterday, i did a clean install (format) of winxp and all driver and all.... without any success. My problem was that i could sometime play about 15 min, and all of a sudden, BAM!, heavy graphic corruption ( game become a bad acid trip) with lots of artifact. So i decided to underclock my 9800pro with atitool. I open atitool, look test for artifact and BAM! same graphical corruption. I opened my computer to see if my fan was still spinning ( because this kind of corruption is often related to heat) and I saw it was still spinning, but my card was boiling. So I close my computer to let it cool down, and all was ok, for an hour that time, and BAM! same thing. Next step I did was let computer cool down and put a house fan just beside my computer, side panel open and I was able to play 3hrs without any problem.
The question is: Why in the hell of 2k games world do my card turn so hot when I play civ4 wich is not comparable as a game as F.E.A.R or COD2???????? dunno! All I can say is that the games turns my card so damn hot when I play civ4 that it will mess my comp.
So if u wanna try, just let cool down ur computer and try to boot it up with a fan blowing direct in ur computer and tell me if it worked for you.
Good luck to you all in ur progress to make this pandoras box work!!!
