I give you my favourite story of today!

A Canadian farmer and 'mildy religious' person is up in arms about having his photo taken!

He plans to take the Ontario authorities to court over it!

The agricultural zealot is convinved the use of biometric time-based tech
is cited in the bible as being controlled by the main bad guy of the 'good book', the devil.

Thus he will have NO photos taken!
And anyone who does is in big trouble with his god!

Check it out...

You could say he is merely defending his rights as a free man.

Or is he a fundamentalist paranoiac snapcase?

I would appreciate your opinions!

Then he should drive a bycicle.

Two wheeled ambulation is the province of the fallen one, my son!

Repent!

I'm going to have to ignore the 'or' in there and vote both!

"Ethical and moral control is to come from within the individual, not to be imposed from the outside.... It has to come from the heart."
This much from the guy I can endorse, as it parallels my own beliefs. However, he's also actively identifying something from Revelations. In the first case, he's a nut for being a Christian. In the second case, he obviously missed the parts of the book saying no one will no the time or hour or recognize the true signs when they happen, meaning he's a bad Christian.

And which are the bible word that allow him to beleive it is a bio-metric devil work? I guess its a subliminal methaphore involving dancing shooting star and blablabla...

What dont tell me you have never had the enjoyment of going full bore down a dirt track, over a jump down a drop off and through a nice muddy puddle?

Ah, so he's like the Amish (and several other groups).

Well, if he doesn't want his photo taken, then he shouldn't have his farm nor be able to drive. Surely that wouldn't matter to him if after he dies he gets to live with the Lord, right?

Couldn't he simply sweet talk his local Amish chief and get a waiver from them? But wait, are there any Amish in Canada?

So there is a Fallen One ! I knew it all along, Curtsibling is actually a Biblofile.

Repent ! :D

Bothwell believes that biometrics - the use of physical identifiers such as fingerprints, retina scans and face recognition - is specifically cited in the book of Revelations as the work of agents of the devil.

He believes that anyone who allows their image to be archived by an outside agency bears "the mark of the beast" and will "drink the wine of the wrath of God" as a result.

he's close it's not really the devices that are agents of the devil, but the workers at the BMV.

meh i get to go to hell because i have a learners permit, thats laughable if the only thing God can pin on me is a photograph.
God: well your report looks good decent guy had faith in me help out others, but whats this HOLLY ME IN HEAVEN!!!!!! you got your picture taken. For this you will rot in hell for all eternity

I don't know about Canada but here you can apply for a non photo drivers license, it may take a little while to get your application aproved but i don't think they'll reject you

Something like this happened in Florida a while back when a muslim woman refused to take off her scarf or whatever to get her driver's license picture taken. It wound up in court eventually though I not sure what the decision was.

If you ask me, he shouldn't be forced to have his picture taken. Luckily no one is forcing him to have his picture taken. Don't give him the license until he does.

ps: CurtSibling, no offence, but you think you've successfully run the "X and Y as Z" thread-title template into the ground yet? Just a thought.

Rather witty...for you. :D

I was in character, laddie!

fire and brimstone... I like that :)

driving a car is no right, it is a privilege, so if you don't meet the conditions to drive a car, you just can't do it! that is exactly the case here

There's life in the old cliche yet!

The guy can believe what he wants. After all, Satan did try to run me off the road 3 times on Friday. :satan:

so this guy could be crazy or didn't trust the governmentor may live isolated . he sounds like he live by himself or atleast isolated from the world and church . it not good even a christian to be isolated especially from other believers . if this is the case he needs to fellowship more with others .i wonder if he goes to church at all.

Curtsibling you are putting in a lot of effort find odd christian stories. are you having doubts about your faith and see christianity as a threat?

I used to know a guy that actually thought the whole world was made of concrete. (You had to plant all the trees & grass). Nothing surprises me.
