If that is the case you should do some research into Finland (I have been doing so for several years). Let's see:
They have a language no one from outside understands and one that is similar to that of their neighbours/owners -whom they tend to hate-, but almost no one understands anyway because of the way they speak it.
They have a blue-and-white flag with a cross in the middle.
Drinking is part of their national identity.
They have a ‘unique’ cuisine of the love-it-or-hate-it type.
The winters are horrible.
They have an interesting, highly localised folklore.

Your posts in the other thread got me thinking. I find myself holding more and more socialist-leaning thoughts but I have no frame work to put them in.
