I'm thinking Rome>Spain>Prussia, Led by Fredrich or maybe Revolutionary Napoleon and establishing big empire in both the old world and the distant lines then just being an absolute menace in the modern era
I don't think super planning like that sounds super fun the first time around, when I'll barely know what the rules are and am just feeling things out.
I do want to go a game where I lean heavy intoi diplomacy on one of my pretty early games though.
I was thinking about planning it all out, but I think I'll just feel it out once I've got everything in front of me. Might take an hour, but it's what needs to be done.
Tecumseh [Greece > Shawnee > Siam] looks like a fun first playthrough. The leader and civs look to have some amazing synergy with city states, plus I really enjoyed city state play in 5 and 6. Venice was my absolute favorite in 5. Just become besties with all the city states and win.
Confucius/Han, starting small and compact, going into Mongolia for the conquest in exploration. Dunno about modern, Qing perhaps, to keep with the theme?
