All,

First Deity Victory after many losses so a bit of a brag post. :)

I know the Maori are often discussed. I tried them and wow. I noticed it happens in waves.

First the OP water yields with God of the sea and culture bombing.

Then all the ruins and then all of the City States.

Lets not forget the awesome settling of islands.

This then snowballs into crazy and I mean CRAZY faith generation with Maraes. Usually with India or Scythia you have to manually build faith into the ground. I just built ONE building and 6-12 tiles have 1 faith and 1 culture to them!

Then just buy rock bands, troops, whatever with all this gold and faith. Some planning with districts but wow I have never seen such early, mid, and late game OPness.

See those water tiles!!!

Note on late game ski resorts - not only can you add amenity to the ground which normally was restricted to buildings - can as Inca you use a Mountain tile AND have a ski resort on it?

Honestly playing as Kupe feels like playing this game on cheat mode.

If you just concentrate on getting harbours then campuses and push for free inquiry you get insane early science also. The civ is so flexible.
My personal preference having played them many times is Toa rush by sea with Sea support is great fun.
I always have trouble finding enough woods/jungle for Maraes so tend to just build 1-2 which are powerhouses.

This setup I kinda got a location where I stunted Nubia really fast and I got a space all to myself. Plus as you saw TONS of rainforest.

The real OP for Kupe is that in most cases you can settle besides a wonder for your 2nd or 3rd city, the ability to settle everywhere on the map is really great.

Yes but how do you deal with loyalty or civ aggression?

I've found two things work:

Either just aggressively settle a non military civ and just wipe their coastal capital with a navy. OR send 2-3 settlers and settle close together on another continent.
