The turn is sitting with me, as guardian has not responded, either in the forum or to my pm asking for an email address to send the game file to.
Given the time that has passed without a response from him, perhaps we should restart the game without him. After all it's only the first turn.

I'm involved in several other PBEMs, and none of them are yet upgrading to 1.27f because there are reports that the UK version isn't working. Perhaps it would be best to use 1.21 for the first few turns until this issue is resolved. I'd hate for us to get a month into this second try at a game and have to restart because of bad code.
If you insist on using 1.27, I'll just use a second install, but it might be wiser to check out the bug issues first.

I am very sorry about this patch-related troubles, this game seems to be cursed

No, Atari STILL hasn't posted a working UK PTW 1.27f patch yet. However, there is a way to make the US patch work on the UK version. Just follow these simple steps:
Install the US 1.27f patch (Download from Atari CivFanatics, 11.21 MB)
Replace the "Civilization3X.exe" file from the CIV3PTW folder with the "Civilization3X.exe" file from this zip (2.49 MB). This will fix the "insert CD" copy protection error that appears after you install the US patch over the UK version.
