First May Update: Hail Kuningas!

The Civilization III Hall of Fame has been updated. 68 games were accepted since the previous update.

Congratulations to Kuningas for the highest Firaxis score of the entire Hall of Fame with a Huge Sid Histographic game for 81609 points, eeking by Moonsinger's previous record high by only around 100 points!

Moonsinger wasn't absent this update, though, submitting a 400 AD Huge Sid Conquest game for 17366 points and a 1060 AD Tiny Sid Cultural 100k game for 13989 points.

In other Sid activity, Chamnix submitted a 1685 AD Small Sid Conquest game for 6058 points. EMan submitted a 2050 AD Tiny Sid Histographic game for 2781 points. sanabas submitted a 1914 AD Small Sid Cultural 20k game for 3321 points. Tone submitted a 1555 AD Large Sid Spaceship game for 8997 points.

Denniz was the most active player during this update, submitting 11 games.

Pentathlon : Moonsinger, a space oddity, BlackBetsy, Mad2rix & Baalzebul became full Pentathletes. Sandman2003 rose from 6th to 4th and Denniz rose from 10th to 9th.
Octathlon : a space oddity became a full Octathlete. sanabas rose from 5th to 2nd, Tone rose from 10th to 3rd and Chamnix rose from 8th to 6th.
Histographic : Sandman2003, Warelit & Denniz gained entrance to the Histographic table. Kuningas rose from 6th to 1st.

I always knew Kuningas was a top-class player, expecially after achieving the first CotM eptathlon. I honestly didn't think anyone would go for the Sid record though...shocking.

I am also working on one.. thou I am still in the BCs... but I would not be still playing it I didnt have a hope to get a good score.. (had 1005 score in 1000BC)

I've been running MapFinder for awhile on Sid, using same settings as Moonsinger. No decent maps yet, but I also don't remember to run it as often as I should.

Congratulations to all, especially Kuningas. I would also love to see a write up, and am curious if any new tactics were discovered, like the Funnel of Doom SirPleb used or the banker strategy Moonsinger developed.

As for Kuningas, very nice! Well done! And you were worry that you weren't going to make it!. To get my #1 slot back, I guess I just have to find a map with a domination limit of at least 4508. j/k Your number #1 slot is safe for now.

I don't really know why it's so hard to locate such map on your computer. What is your game settings? I have run into maps with domination limit of 4500 or more by a river with at least one cow all the time. Too bad, we aren't allowed to give away maps; otherwise, you could have some of my maps.

Well, I have only done around 1500 maps. I found 2 or 3, but all were unacceptable for their own reasons. I'll resume the search with more urgency once I actually have some time to play the maps.

@Tone In 1750AD I had maximized population and happiness. Then SirPleb's score calculator estimated 2050AD score to be 81600. It was very narrow
difference indeed.

Sid level articles by Moonsinger, Sirpleb and Handy900 covers most of tactics that I used. I'll write something maybe tomorrow.
