Five things that Conquests did right

IIRC, taxmen now produces two gold and scientists produce three beakers.
What did it used to be?

Yeah, a sensible change. Even some now claim this is too powerful.

But most important:

6.) C3C renewed my fascination for Civ3 again. :)

1) I like this one. Made exploration more focal, as it should be.

2) Seafaring has left me pretty indifferent.

3) It's good they removed GW-rushing with MGLs. Having SGLs do it was a bad idea, however - I think you should be forced to build GWs from scratch. Being able to turn off SGLs is good, of course.

4) The made Armies too powerful, and the AI ceased to use them. I hate this one.

5) Strengthening the Taxman and Scientist was good. The new specialists are neat too, altho perhaps not excessively well balanced.

6) Amphibious bonus? Well, I'm not in the habit of making amphibious assaults anyway. Don't like the Scandinavians, and by the time Marines are an option I can wipe out the defenders of a coastal city with bombers anyway.

TLC, on number 4 you are mixing an intended result (Armies being more powerful) and a bug (the AI not building them). Would you still feel negative if the AI used them?
