I was thinking of transferring some of the crap in my head to flash video :mischief:

Can anyone give me a little input on this stuff? Is it easy? Is FlashMX a good program?

I have made many animated GIFs in the past, and would probably be satisfied with those, except that I want sound included. If Flash isn't the easiest route to accomplish this, what program is easier?

Win98 OS.

thx!

Flash MX is easy when you learn it, but not easy to a beginner. If you can afford the program (pirating is for losers) then use the tutorials - they pretty much explain everything and guide you step by step. The help/tutorials are very thorough. It can seem menacing at first.

If you want something simple that will allow you to do limited animations, you can look into a program like Swish. http://www.swishzone.com/

IIRC you can download a 30-day trial-version of FlashMX for free. You could always use Movie Maker (if included in 98) and add each frame separately as well as adding sound separately. If your movie is simple to create sound and images for, then this might be the easiest, but if you want more control over the movie, FlashMX is better.

About 95% of people who attempt to learn Flash give up and forget about it. But once you learn all the basics and get a feel for the program (which can take a while), it gets a little better. Past that point, everything comes to the matter of how much time you're willing to put in. Flash is very time-consuming, that's all I can really say.

We had to do it in school for both the programming and web design classes... I never liked it, although I learnt it. I also have a severe problem with homepages created in Flash. They are too "flashy" and annoying IMO.:(
