Hi there Im new to all this so bare with me if Im making some simple mistakes!! I recently got a new laptop ( the dxdiag is included here ) and I installed CIV4 complete on my laptop ( it was previously installed on my old laptop which worked fine ) and when I go to play it the screen flickers constantly making it impossible to play and would give you a headache if you watched it for a short length of time. Is there anything I need to do or install to make the game work properly or is my computer just not suitable to play this game on. I hope the info Ive included is ok and if not let me know and I'll try to get anything that will let you help me. All your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have tried your suggestions but alas no joy  do you have any more tips that I could try or is it just not possible to play this game on my laptop. I do appreciate your help and time that you have given me.

You could also try fiddling with the anti aliasing settings, both in the driver (if the driver has a control panel like ATI or Nvidia does), and in the game itself. :)

Ive tried fiddling with the game settings and still no joy the flickering is still there. Not too sure what the anti aliasing feature is but I will try to find it and then fiddle with it !! Thanks again for your help guys its much appreciated

Just realised guys that my windows vista is the business vista( my wife work provided it for us ) I dont if this has anything to do with the problem and could it help you find a solution

Part of the issue might be your graphics card itself. I had an old SiS integrated card in my old computer, and when my Nvidia card failed, I had to try to use it, instead. Oy! What a mess!

I'm obviously not a big fan-girl of SiS video cards, and I don't know if the new ones are good enough to handle the demands of Vista. Maybe someone else can help with that one.

The fact that your Vista is the Business edition shouldn't make a difference, I wouldn't think. It's the same as the other versions. It just has a slightly different feature set. The graphics engine and stuff is all the same, AFAIK.
