Not at all. This season a new club was admitted, they're now playing with 19 clubs... I hope they'll change this system, but the highest amateur leagues don't really want it, and the FA doesn't want 'semi-amateurs'. Besides that, the amateurs have two 'divisions', one playing on sunday and one playing on saturday (since they have 'some reason' not to play on sunday (lutherans you know...)

That's why the first division isn't competetive.

Here we have a conference division as the first non league division but quite alot of the teams in the Conference are pretty good and quite often the conference champions go on to win promotion from division three in the next season so perhaps there is less difference between the non league and league teams so that a promotion system is more suitable.

there is. It's a huge difference. I prefer the way it is in other countries, where in theory, your local team could play in the first league after a few years. Here the problem is though, that there isn't enough money. The clubs can't afford becoming professional. The new club that was admitted needed 3 years of preparations (mainly rebuilding a stadium) before being allowed in.

Perhaps the reason that the Conference league works so well is that there has only been one promotion spot from the conference to division 3 so it created a bottle neck where only one good conference team could be promoted each season however now 2 teams get promoted.

I think the play offs can give a good indication of the capabilities of a team. The problem is of course, that the relegated team has had a bad season, and is demotivated, as where as their opponent has had a very good season...

Surely thats a good thing as the the team from the top division has had a season where they have been able to sign more expensive and better players so this balance out the fact that they have been losing all season and give the teams from the league below a chance to win the playoffs.

It doesn't really make much of a difference, but since there's always 1 team a long way behind it's good that there is more than just 1 relegation spot. The real problem is that you can't be relegated from the first division.

I drew but I also got mentioned in the newspaper as I was playing the top team in the division. Signed one new player and only 3 points from safety so its not all bad but I still think I will go down.

A draw in the away game versus the number 2!!! It doesn't bring me closer to the top of the table of course. I'm still at the 5th spot, 5 points behind and only 7 points between me and the top of the table. And 10 league games left. Promotion would be a great prize, if I hadn't started behind the rest and gotten my team together sooner, I'd be a lot more competetive.

Good times...

Finnally I won again :D

Now I have a 3 - 3 -3 record

Heres my Game 7 article for those that cannot read the G7 newspaper:

Dealing with Promotion

After winning promotion last year from the French Second Division, Martigues, AS Beauvais Oise and Creteil must surely have hoped for a better start to the season, but after 10 games gone, Creteil and Beauvais find themselves propping up the table with Martigues just above the relegation zone. Of course it's not all bad as the teams from 11th to 17th are only separated by 3 points, so if one of the promoted teams manages to string some results together then they could survive. With Creteil(17th) playing Martigues(16th) at home and Bastia(16th)playing host to Beauvais(18th), all four teams will be chasing a victory which would surely boost their survival chances.

Beauvais manager Matthew Bradley is reported to be unhappy with his team's performances so far this season, although he has been pleased with the recent turn-around in results which has seen them win one and draw twice in their last three games. However, the team is still 3 points from safety and, after drawing with league leaders Lille on Wednesday, they will be hoping for an even better result at the weekend. Beauvais have signed a new player, midfielder Antoine Heesakkers, this week, but it is rumoured that he will be unfit for this weekend's crunch game. Nevertheless, Bradley is hopeful that Heesakkers could make a difference in the rest of the season.

Beauvais are now joint favourites to go down with Creteil who also won promotion last season, with Martigues and Bastia looking likely to be the two teams battling it out for survival. But the fans at all four clubs will be hoping that their team can improve their performances, while other teams such as Sedan-Ardennes must be careful not to fall into this survival battle.

That doesn't look like a footiemanager newspaper article. It has interpunction in the proper places, capitals at the beginning of sentences, and worst of all, it isn't even written in all capitals!

;)

Our paper is usually quite well writen the only problem was that for the first 7 weeks it didn't actually appear as so few people bothered to submit articles but recently it has started to appear again.

Woo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bastia 1 Beauvais 2

So I've finally moved off the bottom of the table for the first time since week 4!

Yeah I had a look at the second division but at least its still close. A couple of wins and you would move up quite abit.
