Ziege back to Cambuur

Thomas Ziege is reunited with his former team. The German talent was contracted by Sparta Rotterdam but never played a game for that Eredivisie club. Two seasons ago he was loaned to Cambuur, where he improved a lot.
At the beginning of this season Sparta sold Ziege to Emmen. By that time, he was already linked to Cambuur. Unfortunately for Ziege, the Emmen team looked like a bad fit for him. He only scored two times in seven appearances.
Ziege: "I'm very happy to be back at Cambuur. I've had my best performances there, and the specialized training definately improved me. I'm also looking forward to playing with Jan Karelse again."
Karelse and Ziege are acquinted from their Rotterdam time. While Karelse played for Excelsior, one of the other clubs from Rotterdam, both players met frequently.
"Karelse outgrew me in the time he's playing for Cambuur, and I was benched. I hope I can catch up with him," said Ziege.

Cambuur manager Gosse Muijzer stated that "we [Cambuur] are glad to have Ziege back on board. Together with Karelse and Nicholls we have a very strong forward line." With only one point between the current league position and a promotion place, Cambuur has eleven games left to prove that claim.

Hurray! A 21 year old 53 rated striker with a lot of potential. I think I'll sell one of my other strikers, I don't know for sure. One of them is 30 years old, so it's about time to sell him I guess.

Welcome Brian, I dont play Civ either but its just another place to chat about footiemanager occasionally.

Two game weeks until we play at your ground.... :)

@Brian: How are you doing in the league?

Im doing not bad in the league, sitting in 4th place, A euro place is my main aim after finishing 6th in my first season (just joined half way through season 4), the spanish league cup win has been my best point so far (lost to Celta Vigo 4-0 the very game after the cup win)

Wow, that's a very competitive league (I mean for the top spot)! :wow:

Our Spanish league is probably the best in G3, teams down to 9th (Real Madrid) have very good squads capable of competing in Europe. I think the top three this season will be the ones fighting it out at the end, Barcelona had a bad start and have got back to 3rd and Vallecano probably dont have as good a squad but a good manager. Malaga and La Coruna are outsiders for the title this season and I have them both in next two games :(.

It seems whilst I was away, I won 1, drew the next two and lost my last game and have moved up a place.

No it isn't the manager, it is the players who can only win once and then start dropping points again :p Waiting for the new season :)

I brought in a 53 rated striker on loan, I'm fairly sure that he's the highest rated player in the league. :D

I also bought a 32 rated midfielder, becuase only 1 of my 5 midfield players has a condition above 70. Also switched to a 4-3-3 formation to rest the tired midfielders.

Wow, that's a very competitive league (I mean for the top spot)!

My league is ultra competetive - after 14 games, only 3 points seperates the 4th placed team from the 15th placed team! With the right results elsewhere in the league, one victory could catapult me from 15th to 4th!

Who was the idiot? ;)

Once again game 7 comes to an end. A disappointing season ended with ASBO finishing 18th in the league, technically another relegation but fortunately you can't go down any further. Hopefully I won't get sacked in the preseason and maybe next year my squad will be good enough to go up.

My current excuse is that the early draws lowered morale that never recovered fully so form was always going to be difficul to obtain.
