For 2K: A much needed change to "Join a New Game" mechanics

Despite my misgivings, I've found this to be an enjoyable game. My biggest complaint is the inability to join a new game. At the moment it takes a ridiculously long time to get logged in, only to find out all the new games are filled with 200 players. The choice of games that pops up appears completely random, and only 3 of which are offered, almost always, all 3 are either full, or halfway through the game already.

My request is this: please add a filtering ability that will allow us to select "only show games with open slots" and "only show games at X era or earlier."

This would almost certainly improve not only the disposition of the player, but would cut down significantly on your initial server connection load, since you wouldn't have people spamming the refresh button over and over.

For me, it prioritizes showing games in which I have "1 friend" (who? if it's that incompetent friend who sucked, I don't want in the same game), regardless of era, and no, I don't want to join the game in 1542, thanks very much.

Game joining needs to be reworked, because I have a team of people I have met playing, and I want to be able to get into games with them.

I'm trying to get into one now that's got 170 players and is in 2AD, which I assume means it's a really new game.

Getting in is not easy though! I get into my old game and click "join" which then logs me back out and I just keep coming back to the "join" page again!

Erm no, not really. Games start several thousand years BC (2000BC i think, correct me if i´m wrong...anyways, it´s BC) , 2AD means the early game has gone down the drain already

Oh! I know in regular Civ games they start in ancient eras like 2000BC, but I thought maybe with this one it just started at 0AD.....wishful thinking I guess!

It doesn't look like I've joined that game anyway, so that's just as well!

How do I find a newer game to join? If I join one mid-way, I'll be way behind!

If I only knew that... guess new games to join SHOULD appear on login but since the list with started and startable games is (at least for me) empty 99% the time I manage to login...you have to refresh and refresh and refresh as it seems :-/
Maybe they´ll work this out anytime soon.
