Do you make do with using the mouse to click the 'virtual keypad' that the game provides? Iv been doing this and in the one day that I have been able to play, I found it vary annoying..

I havent been able to locate a menu to edit the control settings so, am i stuck playing low difficulty levels? (espcially in duels) Its nearly impossible to eyeball the enemy pirate and then find the correct counter to click =/.

You can try to re-program the keys.
check the files in the game save directory.

Only works in the PATCHED USA version.
(May work in Europe)

Hmm, ill have to give that a try when I get home. I have patched (though I'm not sure what the patch did, nothing that I've noticed :mischief: )

Ok, I found the key-binds file in the save folder as you directed, that was vary helpful. Now, all I need it to figure out the key lingo so that it will bind correctly..

I'v tried the lower-case letters a,s,d,f that i wanted to bind slash,jump,parry,duck too but i cannot get them to work.. when the duel comes up the keys are non-responsive. :mad:

Thanks for all the help so far, keep it comin! :goodjob:

These should work, but you never know.

;
; Commands for dueling
[Duel]
Pause_P = p
Thrust_Num4 = a
Parry_Num5 = s
Chop_Num7 = q
Slash_Num1 = z
Jump_NUm8 = w
Duck_Num2 = x
Taunt_Num6 = d

Caps matter.

It seems the letters don't work, I have tried that exact setup, using lower case as well as caps, nothing working so far. Best I can tell the script just doesn't understand anything but Num keys and shift. I really hope they have another patch coming, this is quite frustrating.

I finally installed Pirates on my desktop at home but its a 1.8 gig processor and only 64 meg vid card, thus the game runs slower and looks much worse than my hardware superior laptop for uh.. work-puropses only. :lol:
