Forbidden Palace Location

IIRC, now (in C3C 1.22) it doesn't matter the city where you build the FP, so I just made it in the city with more shield production (that not the capital) and save my MGL for another Great wonders, or for armies, that now are a must have (in C3C)...

Are you saying the cities immediately around it do not benefit (reduce corruption etc)?

in C3C MGL can't no more help the improvement of a Great Wonders, only smalls... The SGL can rush great wonders....

Yes, I believe he is, but he's not correct. :)
He actually IS correct, from a certain point of view. The cities around the FP benefit only because the optimum city number increases, not because there is a FP in the city next to them. The FP does not create a new centre in C3C.

Or am I completely mistaken here? Have I been misled by misinformation? Do I have the misfortune of being misled by miserable misinformation?

The cities around the FP benefit from reduced distance corruption.
(Everything about corruption)

in C3C, I go commy in the latter game so the fp placement is not so big a deal... That said, I place the FP 5~20 tiles from the palace now. The placement would be 25% further for a commercial. Note, 20 tiles away would be the placement I would try for on a huge map.

For C3C, the FP really helps and a well placed FP can help your overall spt and commerce.

i don't care anymore about ideal placement i just put it in my iron works city and BOOM!
i can build the military acadamy in 3 turns :D
How much production did that city have? I once built forbidden palace early on in game in a city and later found that it could build iron works. It had 110 production at one stage

It is time for the KISS*-Principle of "Where to place the FP in C3C"! :)

Here is my solution:

1.) Take a look at cities around of 40-60% corruption
2.) Make sure there are lots of cities around the target city
3.) This is where placing your FP will maximize it's effect

* KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid

FR increases OCN, so it reduces rank corruption for far away cities.
FR reduces distance corruption for cities close by.
Since FR is not considered palace for rank corruption, distance deduction factor is not strong enough if FR is too away from palace.

Also, distance factor is most significant for cities between FR and real Palace.

So, my placement of FR, is in city with potential high production, which with courhouse has around 40-60% waste (in monarchy or republic). That means it's not too far nor too close.
